Silva is never DUE to lose. It's going to take a hell of a game plan and near perfect execution for Weidman to take him down.

A lot of people, apparently. Weidman by KO has gotten some heavy action.

Weidman's striking getting lots of love. Only avenue to win is by decision. Anderson getting KO'd or Subbed...common pal!

I dunno about that. It's a pretty damn close fight, I won't be surprised if either guy wins. The justification people use for betting is hilarious though. It's either "Silva is way past his prime, Weidman is young and Chael took Anderson down!" or "ANDERSON IS THE GREATEST FIGHTER OF ALL TIME AND WEIDMAN ONLY HAS 9 FIGHTS".

Well, it's a bit of a moral dilemma. If you and I liked medals instead of cash, the equivalent to this would be to enter the Special Olympics. Sure, it's easy, but you can't help but feel like a bit of a dick when you take the gold from some guy in a wheelchair who's trying desperately to throw a sack into a basket.

That's the difference between tournament poker and cash games. Tournament guys want to be known as the best in the world, meanwhile the cash game players are waiting for them to get their prize money so they can lose it to us.
Money is the only way I keep score.

Not as bad as MTT players, who legitimately think it's a good idea to play MTT's. EV is EV, sure, but Jesus Christ, when you get 100 BI downswings with regularity, it's time to reassess how much risk you're willing to handle. Every pro MTT player I know is a miserable asshole.

That's half the reason I do it bro.
In my defence, I may be condescending and a huge dick at times, but at least I give good advice. I was the one who taught Gabe how to math, and then he used it against me and destroyed me, turning me into the embittered spirit you see before you.

Please, bro. Haven't you heard of bankroll management? TO WIN one unit on favourites, RISKING one unit on dogs.
Where'd that Jake Thomas guy go? He had it right.

It's like at the end of A Beautiful Mind where John Forbes Nash teaches Hansen how to math, and then Hansen casts Nash into the Sarlacc pit.

The beauty of bankroll management is that it doesn't matter how much juice you're paying as long as you win. TO WIN one unit bro. You're always going to win one unit no matter what. It's like getting Edgar, Silva, and Golovkin at +100.

the guard was already changed before shogun/jones fought, which is why jones was a -200 favorite despite "having never beaten anyone." fight footage tells the story, not fight records. anyone with eyes knew jones was going to win that fight; his abilities were evident. weidman lacks the compelling video evidence to prove he can beat silva, which is why it will be a legitimate upset if he wins.

Sorry for the spoiler for those who haven't seen this by the way, Nash doesn't really die or anything, he just gets caught in this weird bubble of equilibrium, which sets up the sequel film, Equilibrium. Far better than the original in my opinion.
