at what point are you satisfied? How much would you have to win to be satisfied?

10k is a good goal. It takes a bit of luck and a pair of brass balls to get there.

the goal is to not give it back. I've given back with offshore sportsbooks, for sure.
With live money though, i tend to be more prudent

yeah i know right. its easier to bet money when its just a click of a button than to hand over hard cash

You never really win until you spend what you have made on something other than gambling.

I always get it back.
The OP is premised on a gambler quitting. That's a failed thing from the start.

nah i dont really mean quitting for good.
but ya know how u might go on a nice run for awhile and then you might think... hey this may not go on forever ...maybe i should stop for awhile so i can enjoy my winnings instead of giving it back

I haven't. I just cash out the winnings and keep gambling with the normal stack. That said, this year has a helluva lot less cashing out. NFL bent me over, and I was still trying to get back into the black during March Madness

Up 4x since Saturday but I'm keeping the pedal down here. All in against the Astros. This is the easy money days when they absolutely blow. And against the red hot Rays to boot. I guess this is what really ends up biting everyone though, the "free money" plays.

As a rule, if I'm up in a poker table , I 'll stay till I start loosing small amounts, let's say , if I started with 120 in a 1 2 game, and I m up 600 and for some reason I star loosing small pots I set myself a stop loss( like in any stock) and leave with a win.I m playing rulte, and triple up, I leave !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.I love leaving when I m up, having this conduct has helped me to keep and grow my BR to a decent level. I also have loosing sessions and again I respect my stop loses ( 2 bullets).

Im a grinder so most times I play by those rules.....sometimes its bad. I won 17 times in a row playing NL one time. I was in a game at the Grand and quickly got up 200 the game was juicy lots of stains chasing bad money. I quit later a buddy of mine said how do you walk away from that game. I thought about it and I was more worried about my win streak than making money. So if your a real player no you dont set a limit ....If your a grinder yes you set limits.
