They are dropping life jackets in the water for the passengers so they seem to be alright.
Yeah, I heard it could've been a bird.

I think everyone is safe. It looks like they landed the plane on water and it is floating. The luggage is probably wet.

US Airways jet lands in Hudson River
Some news reports are reporting that witnesses in Manhattan thought this might have been another 911 tragedy at first glace.
Plane enroute from La Guardia to Charlotte, N.C., touches down about 3:30 p.m. Some 150 passengers get off safely.
US Airways Flight 1549 executed an emergency landing in the Hudson River Thursday afternoon. About 150 passengers and crew aboard the plane were rescued.
Government officials say the plane went down after striking a flock of birds that disabled two engines.
The flight left La Guardia Airport and was headed to Charlotte, N.C. La Guardia remained open during the crisis, but did a brief "ground stop," holding departing flights. That was lifted shortly after, and planes resumed normal schedules.
Rescue crews were on the scene, where water temperatures were just above freezing. The Federal Aviation Administration said all passengers made it off the plane safely. It was not immediately clear if there were injuries.
Witnesses say the plane, an Airbus A320, appeared to be in a controlled glide to the water. It touched down into the river at around 56th street.
"I just thought, 'Why is it so low?' And, splash, it hit the water," said witness Barbara Sambriski, a researcher at The Associated Press.
New York Water Taxi had three commuter vessels in the area, including one with Chief Executive Tom Fox on board.
First on the scene, New York Waterway also began to retrieve passengers, including some who were huddled on the plane's wings.
According to William Wachtel, an attorney who owns part of New York Waterway, nine of their boats responded, led by their operations manager and chief captain, Alan Warren.
"The brave captains of our ferry boats did what they do every day, which is watch out for the well-being of New Yorkers," said Mr. Wachtel.
Survivors were being brought to Chelsea Piers and the Weehawken Terminal in New Jersey.
At St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, an incident command center was being set up, in coordination with the city's fire department. Gov. David Paterson and Mayor Michael Bloomberg were both at the site.
Medical staff were being held past their shifts to prepare for patients coming from triage at Chelsea Piers. In addition, the hospital's Behavior Health Services Trauma and Wellness Program were gearing up to counsel the survivors, to ward off post traumatic stress.
Behavioral health experts at St. Vincent's, most experienced in counseling people after the Sept. 11 attacks, said they expected to see not only the survivors of the emergency landing but their associates, family members, and possible emergency first responders.
"Even if these people talk to us only once it will help," said the counseling center's Dr. Spencer Eth. He said it would be normal for anyone who has been in such a potentially catastrophic life-threatening situation to feel anxiety, have difficulty sleeping, and feeling fearful and depressed. "We find that counseling can stop these feelings from turning into post traumatic stress," he said.
At New York University School of Medicine, Dr. Susan Vasallo said specialists in hypothermia both at NYU and city-run Bellevue Medical Center next door were standing by. Dr. Vasallo, an emergency medicine specialist, said the centers use special warming equipment, including one called a "bear-hugger" to restore body temperature. "We use it about once a week, " she said, usually on homeless people with alcohol problems, "But at least a few times a year on people who've been in the East RIver. "
Both Roosevelt and Weehawken hospitals are also taking rescued passengers.
Airline officials are in direct contact with local authorities, and direct individuals who believe they may have family members on the flight can call 1-800-679-8215.
Bank of America Corp., headquartered in Charlotte, said a number of its employees were on board the flight. A spokeswoman the bank is "in the process of confirming their whereabouts and are working closely with the local authorities to gather further information."
