    Are the Ravens worn out?
Sunday will be the 17th straight week they have played, they got screwed with the Hurricane in Houston forcing them to take their bye in week #2. I own a 15-1 future bet on the Ravens, i am seriously contemplating hedging that puppy this week. I love this teams ferocity and urgency and still like the points this week, but after re evaluating last weeks game, im starting to think this team might be running out of gas. Any thoughts?

It couldn't possibly be a good thing. I think the only way it is a factor is if the Steelers are up by two scores in the second half, I could see the Ravens not having anything in them to mount any sort of comeback and the Steelers win going away.

Means nothing, they'll have whole summer to rest.

you need some inside tips from inside the team/locker room to know if those 15 weeks really have an effect.

but it does wear a player down....no question..... people that think a week off in high level football, have never played much of any high level sport.

and if you don't think that 60 mins of pounding once a week takes its toll on a man's body

read this article on james farrior and how his weight went from 243 to 218 (by early December) as a linebacker....

alternately you can ask roguescholar's weekly bootycall the above question and avoid the reading

Aren't the Ravens resting as we speak?

yes they are resting but at the same time aching...bruised ribs/bones, etc. doesnt heal in a week or two..its takes time..being banged around for 17 weeks straight doesnt allow anytime to heal.

Harbaugh gave them extra rest before each playoff game and they will get 1 more days rest than Pitt becasue Balt played on Sat. It won't affect them anymore than it would Pitt.

the cumulative effects of being hit by 270 lb men that run 4.5 40's for 4 straight months does not go away with an extra DAY of rest.

people don't realize the extremes that alot of players go through to suit up on sunday.

the avg O-linemen in the nfl that DOESN'T show up on the injury report, prob has 2 nagging injuries, that if we woke up with on monday morning...we would take 3 days off from our office jobs.

17 straight weeks has a BIG effect.... but i'm just not sure that it even amounts to over 1% edge for the steerlers come 6:30 next sunday...

but it does and into a list of almost 10 things that add up to me liking the Stillers alot in this one

I'll take the best team over the most rested team anyday. If the Ravens are tired and they lose they were not the better team. Remember the Titans and Lions on Thanksgiving Day. Short week for both teams. Ravens are no more tired and injured than the Steelers. If you feel the Ravens are the best team don't worry about rest/tiredness. If you think the Steelers are the best team then the Ravens should be toast.

I cannot see them beating Pitt on road.

It's hard to beat a team 3x's in a row, especially when both teams know each other as well as they both do.
