Good read on Pirates. Author's prediction is that they play .500 ball second half.

we really think they are going 29-52 the 2nd half the year, thats would it would take to finish under 500

as a long time pirate fan im going to be massively disappointed if they dont make the wild card at least. they can play sub 500 ball and still get the 2nd wild card spot

        interesting blurb I just read

The club apparently also is becoming a hit nationwide. While it might be premature to affix the label America's Team, the Pirates were No. 2 in MLB in apparel sales for the week ending Tuesday, according to Fanatics.com, an online retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise. The company reported a 50 percent increase in sales from the previous week, the largest among the 30 big league teams, with especially strong sales in New York and California.

Reason being for the sales is the color black.
Proven fact that black colored apparel sells like no other color.
That's why the Mets went to a black jersey, so did a lot of other teams.

No they have been black forever, point is if they wore green, the sales would not be as high.

of course but im just saying its not the only reason they're popular all of a sudden

white sox going black years ago had to be the biggest boom in one team's sales ever
