The top of the East is better than the top of West next year. The best two teams in the NBA right now are the Heat and the Nets.

With a healthy rose, the Pacers and the Bulls can battle any team in the west outside of OKC, Spurs, and maybe the Lakers depending on what happens there.

The West has better teams in slots 6 7 8. I wouldn't be so sure though. Watch out for a few teams that sucked out east this year, like the Pistons. If Dwight goes to ATL with Josh smith that's also better than any 6 seed out west.

West has a lot of talent from top to bottom, but I think Hornets will have a good shot at the 7-8 seed. They need Eric Gordon to stay healthy and at least attempt to play defense. But a backcourt of Jrue and Gordon is pretty nasty.

Still don’t get all the hate for the Pelicans name. Get over it. Teams have Hawks, Cardinals, Eagles, Seahawks, Ravens, Falcons, Ducks, and BlueJays as nicknames. The pelican is a meat-eating bird who lives in coastal waters. Pretty cool animal if you ask me, plus it’s the LA state bird.
