Darcis takes this even if for no other reason than that he has an english name or two for that matter.
I won't be needing valium it's that simple.

How can one argue against this logic? It can't be done!

I meant take the handicap against him after he wins against kubot because he will be a dog. Paire has way better chance of beating him than kubot.

Nope, I would take Darcis. But see - situational betting is everything.

If anything, the value is on kubot because if darcis had beaten someone other then nadal, the line would have been a pick em more then likely.
I say people missunderstand the meaning of "value" when they apply it to "winning bet" or "high odds" – which is entirely true. This is not the case here. This is a case of us disagreeing on whether the odds hold any value: I think Darcis is far more likely to win than his odds suggest; you don't. You're right though – I constantly have to remind people of the difference between a winning bet (a bet that happens to win regardless of odds) and a value bet.

No one may ever know whether a particular event holds any value because you will only ever witness a single instance of it, and you'd need at least 100 to have any sort of statistical data to analyze. Unfortunately, now that bitch bails out, we will not even get to see that one occurrence...

Disappointing, but we now have two more players to fade next round: Stakhovsky and Larcher.

Anyone got odds on either of these for R3 yet?

Doesn't have much to do with rules. He simply cedes the match.

Injury is the reason. He got hit badly against Nadal, and it felt worse waking up the morning after.

That, and possibly a massive hangover...

He was injured from the previous match and he knew he couldn't compete so instead of going through the motions of showing up on court, etc he did what's called a walkover. Basically withdraw before all the preamble so both his opponent and the next two players set to play after them can get on with it without wasting anyone's time.

this tournament has been ridiculous. has there been more upsets in the first 3 days ever ?
seems the clay court season just drained everyone and those that played 20-25 matches like that fruitcup hewitt, verdasco, and melzer seem to be thriving. <<<shaking head>>>

hewitt losing to brown put a big smile on my face though
