As for the bout itself I thought Paulie outworked him. He was busier, forced the issue, and as the titlist I didn't think Broner did enough to take the belt from him. You have to beat the champ. Broner worked a portion of the middle and late rounds and he was effectively aggressive when he did, but not near assertive enough to deserve a "117-111" score, that was ridiculous. Due to his power and occasional walking down of Paulie when applying himself you could say 115-113 was fair either way, but I think Paulie deserved the nod for being much busier and despite Adrien's power he was never badly hurt.

You're confusing confidence with arrogance. If you pull up some of Floyd's post fight interviews when he was Broner's age, you'll see a quiet, mild-mannered kid that is respectful. He started to sell himself to build hype for his fights but he was already proven in the boxing world with big time wins, Broner is as of yet in no way comparable to Mayweather. You're right he WANTS to be like him, and even copies parts of his speaking.

he landed the cleaner shots. he was more effective. more efficient. for all intents and purposes, he dominated the fight and didn't even look good. just because Paulie threw in flurries, doesn't mean he was actually DOING anything.
