Yes, but it's extremely rare. It's already been stated that Tebow has a poor NFL IQ. Now the guy is going to step in and block and run routes? No way. Ballard will be my fantasy sleeper TE.

It was said that Tebow struggled learning an NFL playbook and they had to dumb it down quite a bit. Granted, QB is the hardest position since you need to know what everyone is doing. He'd have to learn routes and blocking schemes. He'd prob be ok blocking, I don't seem him as a pass catching TE though. The guys who make the quick transitions tend to be basketball guys with great hands and feet. Tebow's foot work has been criticized by many NFL former QB analysts. He seems powerful, but clumsy. Not to mention the fact that Tebow has said a thousand times that he is a QB and will not play any other position.

But I agree with others, tight end is a more complicated position, with more responsibilities, and in addition to Tebow's lack of NFL capacity thus far you have a resistance on his part to play another position. And everyone is forgetting about Jake Ballard. Plus do we really know how much time Gronk is gonna miss? I'm hoping he's maybe on the PUP list but back for Week 7? We really have no idea I think.

What really sucks is that they're ALSO working in a new slot guy in Amendola, replacing the ever-reliable and never-hurt pinball that was Wes Welker. And another new receiver in Michael Jenkins (assuming a rookie doesn't beat him out).

Lot of uncertainty for my Pats. But even more reason Brady wins MVP when he throws for another 40 TDs w <10 INTs.

I think it could happen.

First of all, if anyone can handle a circus type atmosphere, it's Belichick.

Second, the Patriots are known for thinking outside of the box. As mentioned before, they turned QB Julian Edelman into a decent wide receiver. Before that, in an emergency situation, they turned WR Troy Brown into a DB.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Tebow succeeded as a TE.
