#4Well, all I know is this: the Red Sox better win tonight for their psyche if nothing else.
If they let the Yankees win tonight, a minimum 3 game swing from the weekend's games will be an absolute killer. The Red Sox will not win the wildcard. They need to concentrate on winning division games or they are toast.

#7I recall one of the announcers in the first game (Steve Phillips) stating that this was not a "do or die" series for either team, and I thought to myself, "Steve Phillips is an ignorant numbnut, and the series is definitely vital for the Red Sox in that they're already trailing in the standings. Should they get swept in a 5 game series against the team they're trailing, they have no chance to make the playoffs."Comment -

#8NY does not win tonight. The game is simply too important for Boston and their best big game pitcher is on the mound. Mussina will get utterly shelled.Comment -
