I started betting with Nine.com a while back b/c they offer moneylines on every thing you can imagine. However, as soon as I made my first few bets, they cut my internet access and made me place all wagers on the phone. That is fine but now when I call in, they ask me who I want to bet on before giving me the line. Everytime I call, the guy asks me who I want and then it takes about 3 minutes to come up with some wacky line. i can hit refresh on the computer over and over and the line hasn't changed for hours. But when he comes back to the phone, guess what? yep, it has changed dramatically. So now I'm stuck playing the game with them where I don't necessarily tell them exactly who I want from the beginning. It feels like a game of cat and mouse when trying to make a wager. It's a game of who can outsmart who. I realize I have many other options to play at but I really like betting moneylines on qtr/halves, etc... I will make all my wagers at pinnacle for the most part but every once in a while you will get better #'s at nine.com. I was just wondering if anyone else has experenced this bullshit. For a B+ rated bookie, this just seems like to much work for the player. Okay, I'm done bitchin'

#2A lot of books end up at the point you mention. They don't know what line is off so they are using you to tell them. You call and can't ask for the specific game, you have to get a readback of all the games or at least a league. But I agree Nine takes it to riduculous levels. This is their version of we don't kick out players but we do make it useless to bet with us.Comment -

#3Know how you feel
I placed a $300 bet here & the system kept me waiting about 3 mins while my bet was 'approved
God only knows how I am going to be able to finish my roll at this place
Still at least it is a 'safe' bookComment -

#5Nine.com is a horrible book. The Gambler, you sure can pick'em.
I got a spam e-mail from them that was actually touting Scam Root as the #1 Las Vegas Handicapper. If I sent Nine.com money they then would send me Root's newsletter. Wonderful, get hooked up with a scammer, and then be put on his sucker list. They must really go after the naive, loser gambler.Comment -

#6Like I said, I was only using them b/c I love to bet on moneylines and Pinnacle and Greek are the only 2 I know that have money line wagering for halves and quarters. I assumed that nine.com was a good Book based on having a B+ rating, so I felt my money was safe. Based on what you have just said Chuck, I think I might take my money and run. I do 90% of my wagering at Pinnacle but there are also better options at times with some of these other A and B+ books that I will use. However, I just seem to be having bad luck with them (VIP cut my limits, 365 cut my limits, Nine.com makes me call in, Bodog and Bowmans gives me dual lines). I think that's it!!!Comment -

As far as letting them move the line, and then bet the other side, that doens't work either. If you try to bet the other side, they out you on hold again, and often come back saying we can give you that line but only for $250
I think long term SBR needs to come up with a dual rating system. Books should get 1 rating for speed of payout, and security of funds, and a second rating for everything else like CS, bookmaking and so forth. So a book like Nine should get an A when it comes to payouts, and an F for eevrything else.
I still have a hard tiem understanding why Rick, thier head linesman has such a good rep. HE's by far one of the worst linesmen in the business. He clearly can't keep his lines updated. He won't honor his lines. He's scared of every new signup that walks through the door. And lets face it, he's driven every book he ran into bankruptcyComment -

#9As of their last upgrade, Nine was to be operating by VIP's policies and standards.
In the past, the phone-only guys would get the DB line and had a choice to take it or not but couldn't get what was quoted on the site. Most of these players who were betting phone-only were still there because they had already invested in the bonus. Since, Nine has agreed to prorate bonuses and players weren't forced to call in and few sharps actually wanted the phone option.
I agree with everyone here. If a player likes the book enough to conform to phone-only betting he should see the line on the website. Calling gives the book plenty of time to keep up with the market.Comment -

#11If you think a book might pull a fast one, do this:
"What is the spread for 351/352? Tampa Bay/Arizona?" Most clerks are well trained, and will read the favorite with the spread.Comment -
