Think I do not live in the hood? My friend and mailman.
My mailman was one of my buds. He was nice as could be and sat in my house Many times and hung out with me, but I just learned today.

    He was arrested Thursday...

2 counts criminal confinement class B felony
2 counts intimidation class C felony
1 count strangulation class D felony
1 count domestic battery class D felony
1 count battery resulting in bodily injury class A mis
1 count poss of marijuana class A mis

    $627K bond.

I am in shock. The guy was my friend a great guy with me. Kewl as hell and I would have never guessed this. Smart guy, too.

Welcome to the world of living in Meth Hood. He had to have got on the chit. No other explanation.

    Damn.

I am actually sad and I am going to go visit him.

    Shocked.

In the newspaper, he reportedly told the police he was "God, had the right to judge and kill people and would kill anyone".

Me and this guy sit Many days together here in my home and I liked him a lot.

        Wow

Lots of meth labs out here in the sticks, General. The Hood is relative to everyone, no matter if you live in an inner city or out in the country. When I first moved out here about seven years ago now, I got into a very casual conversation with one of the local sheriff deputies, and asked him what were the two biggest crimes in this area. His answer was, "Domestic violence and speed labs." I was about 250 or so then, and 6-1, so I look like the antithesis of a speed addict -- Or tweakers as I came to know them meeting people in the contracting business for a while -- and I live within a 10-minute bike ride of my wife's entire family.

So I grinned at this young 30-something deputy and said, "Well, as you can tell by looking at me, I don't use a lot of speed. And if I ever hit my wife, the call you'll get will be for a body recovery since her family will kill me. So I guess we're not going to be seeing much of each other from here on out." True story.

It did begin with his fiancé and a male friend of hers. Maybe a good call.

Meth is a powerful drug, I've seen it destroy a close friend of mine. He has since got clean but the lingering effects are devastatiing. He main lined so much of it that it destroyed his pancreas and now has severe diabetes. He now has a small machine with a tube entering into his stomach to administer insulin when needed.
His mental state was also destroyed and he's on countless meds to try and regulate brain chemicals.

Another example of why treatment is better than incarceration.
