I have traveled to all 48 of the continental states, and the residents of Texas have the most pride of when it comes to being from a particular state. They just wouldn't give up when it came to defending their states honor.

You know, Texas still has the right to both secede from the union as well as divide into multiple states. So if we became say, five states, all of which still 50X bigger than Rhode Island, it would really be 47-5. Plus I'm pretty sure Louisiana could be bought off, you do realize that area has been sold like 137 times now in the past 300 years, right? So that even gives us more of the refineries plus Cajuns are a ruthless, hard to kill sort of people. And Oklahoma is probably ours, we have enough ex-Texas high school football players up there to convince the general populace to join us. And I really think we could get the entire country of Mexico behind us, at least up until the point of their inevitable capitulation, so in some ways it would be 47-9. And lord knows Sarah Palin would bring a squadron of dogsledders out of Alaska to our defense. So now it's 47-10 and like most of the oil and refineries.

But alas, I still think the rest of the 47 would win out in the end. The final defense would be played out at the brewery in Shiner. I could be wrong.

Really the state that would love to see this happen is California. They hate us. We hate them. But when it comes to safety, they would scream for Texas to help them. If Texas ever seceeded, what state do you think gets taken over 1st? Cali. They would be the new province of China.

I think close to 20% of military enlists come from Texas. How about...when it comes to gambling and money... I think it is around 20% of Vegas betting money comes from Texas. This is why alot of us Texans hate to see money like that leave the state. We have all that barren land going towards El Paso to build casino after casino. Willie, we are letting to much money leave the state.
