    I'm A DH Fan Now
I've been an Astros fan all my life. With that moniker, it pretty much has always put me in as a National League guy also. With that being said, I was cringing at the bit when it was announced we would be an American League team in 2013. Needless to say, it hasn't been that bad. I actually enjoy the American League game now. Its good to see the pitchers concentrating on their trade, king of like the offensive and defensive players do in the NFL. It also makes the game more fun to watch when you aren't waiting for the pitcher's slot to come up, and defuse a possible big inning. I know that National League guys will say it takes the strategy out of the game, but I don't totally agree with that as much now. With less pinch hitting, a team could potentially keep one or two extra pitchers on their roster, if they want to keep specialists for certain "strategies". Yep, I'm an American League guy now.

I honestly never realized how big of a difference a DH makes other than replacing the usually an easy out pitcher

I've grown up watching AL East games, so I realize I was biased from an early age. But I cannot. Stand. NL rules. Forcing pitchers to flaccidly attempt to hit has got to be one of the worst rules in any sport.

I realize there;s a purist argument for it, but at some point you have to ask yourself: when a teams entire strategy revolves around trying to sidestep a rule, why is that rule even around?
