Not to take anything away from Steelers (this means that I will now take away from the Steelers), when the road team is penalized for 50 yards or more in the 1Q, that often destroys the rhythm of the offense. Last time I saw this was the IND @ GB game when the Winter crew handed out 60 yards against Indy. They never got in a rhythm after that. Strangely, as in the Chargers game, this did not translate into a big point differential in the 1Q. But, with their early rhythm disturbed, both teams never got in the game, and were basically blown out.

BTW, I don't particularly like Bill Leavy too much (SD@PIT game). He was the zebra in the infamous Superbowl between the Seahawks and ... Steelers. Why the hell did he penalize the Chargers for 15 yards for excessive celebration when they took the early lead? And then another 15 yards for an offensive face mask. Are you kidding me? An offensive face mask?

Other than that, the Steelers got every single break. A beautiful diving catch that was called back, a similar catch (INT) that was held up for the Steelers, a bad punt that bounces on top of a Chargers helmet (!), and gives the ball right back to the Steelers on the SD 20.

I'm sure that Steelers bettors felt brilliant during all of this. lol.
