Is there a way to disable animated ads?

More and more web pages have animated ads that keep rolling for the entire time that the page is open. Some have four of those ads at the same time. This is as annoying as popups were (before you could stop them), and takes up a lot of RAM. Especially if you have 10 or 20 pages open. Is there a way to turn this stuff off?

If you use Firefox there are "addons" available that will stop this behaviour.

I have my browser (Firefox) setup so that I don't see any flash, animations, banners or ads at all.

Thanks. Does this include Adobe flashplayer 10? Downloaded addons but still trying to figure out the settings. So far Abode flashplayer keeps running.

Yep, there's an addon called "flashblock" that won't allow flash content to play unless you click on it to start it playing in your browser, very useful.
