    White players who BLEW IT
    in another thread, someone mentioned

2 white guys, Matt Jones and Josh Hamilton that were great athletes and went off "track"....
Hamilton got back on track... Jones might

as a sociologist I get very interested in this kind of stuff....and as a white guy living in a neighbhorhood with 98% black people... Racial discussion is always interesting.

I know we have alot of racists that will love this thread..... but here goes...

name some other white guys that "had it all" and threw it away... let's just keep it to the sports arena...
it seems at first glance that blacks would outnumber whites 10:1 in a poll of this nature, speaking of criminal and drug related problems that curtailed or hindered careers... ala len bias,

who was that releiver that just died.. Todd Beck... and steve howe they come to mind.. how good would Micky Mantle have been if he wasn't an alcoholic? Babe ruth? hack wilson?

Give a ****** money, watch the money get blown on junk and him go bankrupt, give a white money regardless of what background he comes from and watch him invest it and be rich for the rest of his life, look at Vick highest paid QB in the game and goes to prison for runnin an illegal dog fighting ring, you cant make this shit up this mofo was gonna make a 100 mil if he had 2 braincells and he wasnt even worth a shit at QB, ghetto ******s are just not great at managing money

you would not believe some of the stuff i've seen here regarding money management...... it makes you wanna laugh and makes you wanna cry..

thats why I am involved with an weekly class that teaches high school students... personal finance, all the way up to investing, starting businesses, marketing ect. Then we actually have kids start businesses and incubate them.... while having real professionals from the area mentor them..

no welfare per se in Illinois.... aid to women with dependent children... but that runs out after a few years.... most "checks" and you wouldn't believe how many people get them... are for disabilities.

Obviously you don't have to be too smart to figure out how to pull the wool over uncle sam's eyes and get a check for nothing...

I should learn from the blacks how to do this...

I somewhat agree with this, but since he's still on tour (although he was recently suspended for no reason) its hard to say he completely blew it along with having won 2 majors, but yea his alcoholism has destroyed much of his career and virtually all endorsement deals, hes an idiot and mentally ill no doubt, but alot of fun to watch, watching Pacman shoot up strip club after strip club is a lil crazier than Daly every got

There was the Canadian Great White Hype of the NFL, Tony Mandarich.

Is his story well-known outside Canada? Here are the Cliffs Notes. Offensive Tackle drafted second overall between Troy Aikman and Barry Sanders.

Except it turns out he couldn't play. Mandarich would be the one of those three who has to buy a ticket to visit the Hall of Fame.

Flamboyant, big-mouth. There were steroid accusations - which he recently admitted. Big bust.

yeah it wasn't the steroids that ruined him, but pain meds right? I remember seeing the interview and being so relieved for him that he finally admitted all his problems...

I want to say Alexandre Daigle. 1st overall NHL draft pick. He was such a great prospect, it was pretty obvious Ottawa was tanking games so they would get to draft him. He was thought to be one of those once-in-a-decade guys. His crazy first contract was what finally pushed the league to a rookie salary cap.

But he couldn't play. He hung around the fringes for a few years until no one was left who thought he might just be a late bloomer. And he was done.

But as far as I know, he doesn't fit the criteria of blowing it because of drugs or crime. I think it was basically just lack of desire and work ethic.

yeah I remember when the Pens got him, they were hoping he would become the player he shoulda been years earlier..with Lemieux to help him along..

Todd Marinavich became a drug addict and drug dealer, Chewy never played another down after that.
