    Chris Perez
Details murky, he lives the next street over from me, but he was arrested for either shipping, or receiving a pound of weed in the mail.

People do this all the time. They camp out a house see that someone is never home during the day, they look the address up get a name and postal code and get someone cross country to ship the drugs to that address. Theyll ship it with a no signature leave on porch message and will then camp out again at the house and wait for the package to be delivered, then they walk up and collect.

With tracking numbers its very easy to see if the shipment was investigated and in which case they will abandon it and the home owner will come home receive package and the cops will swoop in.

Agreed. Lived here all my life... they have absolutely nothing to do in suburbia, that's why you always see 2 or 3 cop cars on routine traffic stops.

Not to mention that shithead that i see on my morning commute every day, waiting right across the river with his radar gun. What a future that guy has. If he nails enough people on their way to work, he might make detective!

Generally speaking, good weed isn't pressed together in a pound in a postal package. Or so I hear. Anyway, the part i find most difficult to believe is that a professional athlete would want the kind of crap that would come pressed together in a pound. After all, it's not as if Chris Perez needs shitty brickweed to make him choke. He has that move down.

What is this? Amateur hour? Vacuum seal will compress any type of material into a brick. No matter how sticky or icky it may be... So I've also been told.

A man just the other day recieved a package of some ganja, I think 11 pounds, like $22,000 worth, and he immediately turned it into police because he wasn't the intended recepient. Accidents happen. Quite pricey accidents at that. That guy may want to lay low for a while.

                                      How It Works

Packages through big Package companys are scanned at every point. They are scanned when the driver picks the package up, or the person drops it off at a pick up center. They are scanned as soon as they come off the truck and into the warehouse, they are then scanned when they are placed onto the next truck. These timings follow a very similar pattern, especially once inside the building. IE: Once a package is scanned as entered the building, its only a few minutes until the package is scanned as on the next vehicle. Certain Package companys guarantee 100% visibility which means you can track every single one of these scans.

Drug dealers scope out a house that seems to be empty in early morning 730-930am or so. They ship the item with early am shipping, which means it will be delivered 99% of the time between 730 and 930am (or similar type schedule depending on the Package company), the very next day. They ship it with "if no one answers door, leave on porch or in door" etc type of message. They then sit a few doors down in a car between 730-930am and wait for delivery. if someone is accidentally at home, package is abandoned. If no one is home, Package company leaves it there and they go and pick it up.

Obviously at times Package companys determine package is suspect, open it, and its drugs. They alterate police, who then decide what they want to do. Sometimes they will allow Package company to deliver it and set up a sting. unfortunately the shippers are smart sometimes and can discover that the package is most likely a sting, by the 100% visibility scans. If the package is suspect, it will be pulled from the line or truck and receive additional or delayed scans. If drug dealer is tracking package and sees these additional scans or delayed scans, they will abandon the package.

UPS and Fedex have the right to search every package (not sure about post office). Now that does not mean they do, generally there has to be something incorrect about the package to warrant a search. Such as odor, leaking, incorrect weights, incorrect size for description (ie: says its a tv, and its in an envelope, says its airplane part, yet weighs under 2 pounds etc). Generally they are never even checked to see if everything is correct unless it is an International package.

Now imagine they got a driver in on this, so it doesnt even actually get to the house, just gets shipped to a house on his route, so he has full access to it. I would bet this is happening. Some driver owes drug or gambling debt. EZ way to get caught up.

Well, the package was delivered to "Brody Baum"

Brody is Perez's dogs name, and Baum is his wife's maiden name.

I think that closes the book on this other theory in this particular case.

False. He can sign for it and still be in the clear.

It was no accident that, that package was shipped to that person. It was an accident that he happened to be home, and was the one that collected it.
It can be a lot easier than that. Most people wouldn't believe what gets through the mail
