Talking about Bud Norris earlier. I finally found this article on pitching mechanics I read a year or so ago. Bud is mentioned with bad mechanics. He is probably more focused on the big stage then playing the Twins, Pirates or A's

Take note that it talks about scapula loading in the article. This is becoming a issue with young pitchers with bad mechanics trying use this approach to add a 3-5mph to their fastball. Strasburg is rumored to be developing arm problems from using scapula loading.

makes sense harley.. as a cards fan never understood it but he owned us forever until his last few start cards finally touched him up a little, always chalked it up to him knowing aganst stl was really only time he was pitching in a gm with plenty of fans and lots of attention.. considering his mentality id like to see a team in contention pick him up as a rental and see if he can bring that big gm mentality all the time if he actually in big gms? stl fans have always lusted after him (not so much myself) but i mean they always saw him kill us not really focusing on fact everyone else bombs him..

KLC, I see they sent Grossman back down.... I'm rooting for the kid, I don't think he was quite ready yet early in this season.

guy knows how to get on base and does have a little pop. I hope he gets it together and returns a solid player later this year or 2014/15. He will still only be 23 for the entire year this year.

Yeah he had a .450+ OBP in AAA before they called him up. He just wasn't getting all the call balls in the majors like he was at Oklahoma City. He definitely has a good eye at the plate, and a very good glove and attitude. Now that he's had a taste of the big league level, with his attitude, I think you're right. He'll be back a better player. In the same breath, I'm glad they've given Brandon Barnes a chance. He had a great spring. It was his past OPS that was holding them back from giving him more playing time.

IMO Astros need to dump Chris Carter. That big mooley can hit it a mile, but he doesn't make contact enough to ever be a viable option. He is just taking up space and wasting outs.
