I didn't know that was coming. Seems to have just happened overnight.

It's not good for a few reasons. Most notably, the MLB moneylines are MUCH worse than at the old Betmaker.

There are a lot of ties between the two that I know of but I did not hear if thye were outright aquired. They are both in the CRIS building, BM employs CRIS head linesman of 15+ years. Maybe there has been a change to the latter.

BetCRIS (SBR rating A+) acquires BetMaker (SBR rating B)
Players will not notice a disruption in service. BetMaker has been hosted in the CRIS facility for over two years and uses the same sportsbook software.
I guess i should have checked the SBR home page 1st
Anyway, yes, Betmaker is now part of CRIS.

I rather have 10 unique solid books instead of 50 lousy ones

I would be curious to know the implications for the other books of the Global Sports group (GoldMedalSports, BetZone, Bookmaker etc.) I tried to take a look at a couple of the sites but none of them seem to be very functional right now.

Well sure but that doesn't have anything to do with this situation. I would rather have CRIS plus the old Betmaker - which was a half-decent book - than just 2 identical copies of CRIS.

But then I don't know what's happening with GoldMedalSports. They were a clone of the old Betmaker so if they aren't changing then nothing is lost.

Depending on what they are going to do at Betmaker with limits, bonuses etc. it could be a good situation for players. There is a huge difference in limits between CRIS and the old Betmaker. At the moment, when I sign on to Betmaker I get a message saying I have to phone in larger bets. Not sure exactly what that means yet. How they handle bonuses is a wildcard.

I just wish they had cloned Betmaker up to DSI with the dime lines on MLB moneylines instead of CRIS with their 20 centers.
