    Hamas using "CNN Strategy"
    Good read:

Gaza City - "On the first day of Israel’s ground attack, approximately 30 Palestinians, almost all Hamas combatants, were killed. On the same day an Islamic suicide bomber blew herself up in a mosque in Iraq, killing 40 innocent Muslims. No protests. Little media coverage."

As Israel persists in its military efforts — by ground, air and sea — to protect its citizens from deadly Hamas rockets, and as protests against Israel increase around the world, the success of the abominable Hamas double war crime strategy becomes evident. The strategy is as simple as it is cynical: Provoke Israel by playing Russian roulette with its children, firing rockets at kindergartens, playgrounds and hospitals; hide behind its own civilians when firing at Israeli civilians; refuse to build bunkers for its own civilians; have TV cameras ready to transmit every image of dead Palestinians, especially children; exaggerate the number of civilians killed by including as “children” Hamas fighters who are 16 or 17 years old and as “women,” female terrorists. Hamas itself has a name for this. They call it “the CNN strategy” (this is not to criticize CNN or any other objective news source for doing its job; it is to criticize Hamas for exploiting the freedom of press which it forbids in Gaza). The CNN strategy is working because decent people all over the world are naturally sickened by images of dead and injured children. When they see such images repeatedly flashed across TV screens, they tend to react emotionally. Rather than asking why these children are dying and who is to blame for putting them in harm’s way, average viewers, regardless of their political or ideological perspective, want to see the killing stopped. They blame those whose weapons directly caused the deaths, rather than those who provoked the violence by deliberately targeting civilians.

They forget the usual rules of morality and law. For example, when a murderer takes a hostage and fires from behind his human shield, and a policeman, in an effort to stop the shooting accidentally kills the hostage, the law of every country holds the hostage taker guilty of murder even though the policeman fired the fatal shot. The same is true of the law of war. The use of human shields, in the way Hamas uses the civilian population of Gaza, is a war crime — as is its firing of rockets at Israeli civilians. Every human shield that is killed by Israeli self-defence measures is the responsibility of Hamas, but you wouldn’t know that from watching the media coverage.

The CNN strategy seems to work better, at least in some parts of the world, against Israel that it would against other nations. There is much more protest — and fury — directed against Israel when it inadvertently kills approximately 100 civilians in a just war of self-defence, than against Arab and Muslim nations and groups that deliberately kill far more civilians for no legitimate reason.

It isn’t the nature of the victims, since more Arabs and Muslim civilians are killed every day in Africa and the Middle East by Arab and Muslim governments and groups with little or no protests. (For example, on the first day of Israel’s ground attack, approximately 30 Palestinians, almost all Hamas combatants, were killed. On the same day an Islamic suicide bomber blew herself up in a mosque in Iraq, killing 40 innocent Muslims. No protests. Little media coverage.) It isn’t the nature of the killings, since Israel goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid killing civilians — if for no other reason than that it hurts its cause — while Hamas does everything in its power to force Israel to kill Palestinian civilians by firing its missiles from densely populated civilian areas and refusing to build shelters for its civilians.

It isn’t the nature of the conflict, either, because Israel is fighting a limited war of self-defence designed to protect its own civilians from rocket attacks, while most of those killed by Arabs and Muslims are killed in genocidal and tribal warfare with no legitimate aim. The world simply doesn’t seem to care when Arabs and Muslims kill large numbers of other Arabs and Muslims, but a qualitatively different standard applies when the Jewish state kills even a relatively small number of Muslims and Arabs in a war of self-defence.

The international community doesn’t even seem to care when Palestinian children are killed by rocket fire — unless it is from Israeli rockets. The day before the recent outbreak, Hamas fired an anti-personnel rocket at Israeli civilians, but the rocket fell short of its target and killed two Palestinian girls. Yet there was virtually no coverage and absolutely no protests against these “collateral” civilian deaths. Hamas refused to allow TV cameras to show these dead Palestinian children.

Nor have there been protests against the cold-blooded murders by Hamas and its supporters of dozens of Palestinian civilians who allegedly “collaborated” with Israel. Indeed, Hamas and Fatah have killed far more Palestinian civilians over the past several years than have the Israelis, but you wouldn’t know that from the media, the United Nations or protesters who focus selectively on only those deaths caused by Israeli military actions.

The protesters who filled the streets of London, Paris and San Francisco were nowhere to be seen when hundreds of Jewish children were murdered by Palestinian terrorists over the years. Moreover, the number of civilians killed by Israel is almost always exaggerated. First, it is widely assumed that if a victim is a “child” or a “woman,” he or she is necessarily a civilian. Consider the following report in Thursday’s New York Times: “Hospital officials in Gaza said that of the more than 390 people killed by Israeli fighter planes since Saturday, 38 were children and 25 women.” Some of these children and women were certainly civilians, but others were equally certainly combatants:

Hamas often uses 14-, 15-, 16- and 17-year-olds, as well as women, as terrorists. Israel is entitled under international law to treat these children and women as the combatants they have become. Hamas cannot, out of one side of its mouth, boast that it recruits children and women to become terrorists, and then, out of the other side of its mouth, complain when Israel takes it at its word. The media should look closely and critically at the number of claimed civilian victims before accepting self-serving and self-contradictory exaggerations.

By any objective count, the number of genuinely innocent civilians killed by the Israeli Air Force in Gaza is lower than the collateral deaths caused by any nation in a comparable situation. Hamas does everything in its power to provoke Israel into killing as many Palestinian civilians as possible, in order to generate condemnation against the Jewish state. It has gone so far as firing rockets from Palestinian schoolyards and hiding its terrorists in Palestinian maternity wards.

Lest there be any doubt about the willingness of Hamas officials to expose their families to martyrdom, remember that the Hamas terrorist leader recently killed in an Israeli air attack sent his own son to be a suicide bomber. He also refused to allow his family to leave the house, even after learning that he and his house has been placed on the a of Israeli military targets.

The reality is that the elected and de facto government of Gaza has declared war against Israel. Under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, it has committed an “armed attack” against the Jewish state. The Hamas charter calls for Israel’s total destruction. Under international law, Israel is entitled to take whatever military action is necessary to repel that attack and stop the rockets.

It must seek to minimize civilian deaths consistent with the legitimate military goal, and it is doing precisely that, despite Hamas’s efforts to maximize civilian deaths on both sides.

By the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee
Occupied Ramallah, Palestine -- December 27, 2008 -- Today, the Israeli occupation army committed a new massacre in Gaza, causing the death and injury of hundreds of Palestinian civilians [latest reports place the death toll at more than 200], including a yet unknown number of schoolchildren who were headed home from school when the first Israeli military strikes started. This latest bloodbath, although far more ruthless than all its predecessors, is not Israel's first. It culminates months of an Israeli siege of Gaza that should be widely condemned and prosecuted as an act of genocide against the 1.5 million Palestinians in the occupied coastal strip.

Israel seems intent to mark the end of its 60th year of existence the same way it has established itself -- perpetrating massacres against the Palestinian people. In 1948, the majority of the indigenous Palestinian people were ethnically cleansed from their homes and land, partly through massacres like Deir Yassin; today, the Palestinians in Gaza, most of whom are refugees, do not even have the choice to seek refuge elsewhere. Incarcerated behind ghetto walls and brought to the brink of starvation by the siege, they are easy targets for Israel's indiscriminate bombing.

Prof. Richard Falk, the UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and international law expert at Princeton University, described Israel's siege of Gaza last year, when it was still not comparable in its severity to the current situation, as follows:
Is it an irresponsible overstatement to associate the treatment of Palestinians with this criminalised Nazi record of collective atrocity? I think not. The recent developments in Gaza are especially disturbing because they express so vividly a deliberate intention on the part of Israel and its allies to subject an entire human community to life-endangering conditions of utmost cruelty. The suggestion that this pattern of conduct is a holocaust-in-the-making represents a rather desperate appeal to the governments of the world and to international public opinion to act urgently to prevent these current genocidal tendencies from culminating in a collective tragedy.
The most brutal episode of this "collective tragedy" is what we have seen today.
Israel's war crimes and other grave violations of international law in Gaza as well as in the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem, could not have been perpetrated without the direct or indirect complicity of world governments, particularly the United States, the European Union, Egypt and other Arab regimes.

While the US government has consistently sponsored, bankrolled and protected from international censure Israel's apartheid and colonial policies against the indigenous people of Palestine, the EU was able in the past to advocate a semblance of respect for international law and universal human rights. That distinction effectively ended on December 9, when the EU Council decided unanimously to reward Israel's criminal disregard of international law by upgrading the EU-Israel Association Agreement. Israel clearly understood from this decision that the EU condones its actions against the Palestinians under its occupation. Palestinian civil society also got the message: the EU governments have become no less complicit in Israel's war crimes than their US counterpart.

The large majority of world governments, particularly in the global South, share part of the blame, as well. By continuing business as usual with Israel, in trade agreements, arms deals, academic and cultural ties, diplomatic openings, they have provided the necessary background for the complicity of world powers and, consequentially, for Israel's impunity. Furthermore, their inaction within the United Nations is inexcusable.
Father Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann, President of the UN General Assembly, prescribed in a recent address before the General Assembly the only moral way forward for the world's nations in dealing with Israel:
More than twenty years ago we in the United Nations took the lead from civil society when we agreed that sanctions were required to provide a non-violent means of pressuring South Africa to end its violations. Today, perhaps we in the United Nations should consider following the lead of a new generation of civil society, who are calling for a similar non-violent campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions to pressure Israel to end its violations.
Now, more than ever, the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC), calls upon international civil society not just to protest and condemn in diverse forms Israel's massacre in Gaza, but also to join and intensify the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel to end its impunity and to hold it accountable for its persistent violation of international law and Palestinian rights. Without sustained, effective pressure by people of conscience the world over, Israel will continue with its gradual, rolling acts of genocide against the Palestinians, burying any prospects for a just peace under the blood and rubble of Gaza, Nablus and Jerusalem.

[The Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) includes: Council of National and Islamic Forces in Palestine; General Union of Palestinian Workers; Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions; Palestinian Non-Governmental Organisations' Network (PNGO); Federation of Independent Trade Unions; Union of Palestinian Charitable Organisations; Global Palestine Right of Return Coalition; Occupied Palestine and Golan Heights Advocacy Initiative (OPGAI); General Union of Palestinian Women; Palestinian Farmers Union (PFU); Grassroots Palestinian Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign (STW); Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI); National Committee to Commemorate the Nakba; Civic Coalition for the Defense of Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem (CCDPRJ); Coalition for Jerusalem; and Palestinian Economic Monitor.]

Gaza massacres must spur us to action

By Ali Abunimah, The Electronic Intifada

Palestinians carry the body of a victim of an Israeli air strike in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, December 27, 2008. (Hatem Omar/MaanImages)

December 27, 2008 --"I will play music and celebrate what the Israeli air force is doing." Those were the words, spoken on Al Jazeera today by Ofer Shmerling, an Israeli civil defence official in the Sderot area adjacent to Gaza, as images of Israel's latest massacres were broadcast around the world.

A short time earlier, US-supplied Israeli F-16 warplanes and Apache helicopters dropped over 100 bombs on dozens of locations in the Israeli-occupied Gaza Strip killing at least 195 persons and injuring hundreds more. Many of these locations were police stations located, like police stations the world over, in the middle of civilian areas. The US government was one of the first to offer its support for Israel's attacks, and others will follow.

Reports said that many of the dead were Palestinian police officers. Among those Israel labels "terrorists" were more than a dozen traffic police officers undergoing training. An as yet unknown number of civilians were killed and injured; Al Jazeera showed images of several dead children, and the Israeli attacks came at the time thousands of Palestinian children were in the streets on their way home from school.

Shmerling's joy has been echoed by Israelis and their supporters around the world; their violence is righteous violence. It is "self-defence" against "terrorists" and therefore justified. Israeli bombing -- like US and NATO bombing in Iraq and Afghanistan -- is bombing for freedom, peace and democracy.

The rationalisation for Israel's massacres, already being faithfully transmitted by the English-language media, is that Israel is acting in "retaliation" for Palestinian rockets fired with increasing intensity ever since the six-month truce expired on December 19 (until today, no Israeli had been killed or injured by these recent rocket attacks).
But today's horrific attacks mark only a change in Israel's method of killing Palestinians recently. In recent months they died mostly silent deaths, the elderly and sick especially, deprived of food and necessary medicine by the two-year-old Israeli blockade calculated and intended to cause suffering and deprivation to 1.5 million Palestinians, the vast majority refugees and children, caged into the Gaza Strip. In Gaza, Palestinians died silently, for want of basic medications: insulin, cancer treatment, products for dialysis prohibited from reaching them by Israel.

What the media never question is Israel's idea of a truce. It is very simple. Under an Israeli-style truce, Palestinians have the right to remain silent while Israel starves them, kills them and continues to violently colonise their land. Israel has not only banned food and medicine to sustain Palestinian bodies in Gaza but it is also intent on starving minds: due to the blockade, there is not even ink, paper and glue to print textbooks for schoolchildren.

As John Ging, the head of operations of the United Nations agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA), told The Electronic Intifada in November: "There was five months of a ceasefire in the last couple of months, where the people of Gaza did not benefit; they did not have any restoration of a dignified existence. We in fact at the UN, our supplies were also restricted during the period of the ceasefire, to the point where we were left in a very vulnerable and precarious position and with a few days of closure we ran out of food."

That is an Israeli truce. Any response to Israeli attacks -- [including] peaceful protests against the apartheid wall in Bilin and Nilin in the West Bank -- is met with bullets and bombs. There are no rockets launched at Israel from the West Bank, and yet Israel's attacks, killings, land theft, settler pogroms and kidnappings never ceased for one single day during the truce. The Palestinian Authority in Ramallah has acceded to all of Israel's demands, even assembling "security forces" to fight the resistance on Israel's behalf. None of that has spared a single Palestinian or her property or livelihood from Israel's relentless violent colonisation. It did not save, for instance, the al-Kurd family from seeing their home of 50 years in occupied East Jerusalem demolished on November 9, so the land it sits on could be taken by settlers.

Once again we are watching massacres in Gaza, as we did last March when 110 Palestinians, including dozens of children, were killed by Israel in just a few days. Once again people everywhere feel rage, anger and despair that this outlaw state carries out such crimes with impunity.

But all over the Arab media and internet today the rage being expressed is not directed solely at Israel. Notably, it is directed more sharply than ever at Arab states. The images that stick are of Israel's foreign minister Tzipi Livni in Cairo on Christmas Day. There she sat smiling with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Then there are the pictures of Livni and Egypt's foreign minister smiling and slapping their palms together.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported today that last Wednesday the Israeli "cabinet authorized the prime minister, the defense minister, and the foreign minister to determine the timing and the method" of Israel's attacks on Gaza. Everywhere people ask, what did Livni tell the Egyptians and more importantly what did they tell her? Did Israel get a green light to turn Gaza's streets red once again? Few are ready to give Egypt the benefit of the doubt after it has helped Israel besiege Gaza by keeping the Rafah border crossing closed for more than a year.

On top of the intense anger and sadness so many people feel at Israel's renewed mass killings in Gaza is a sense of frustration that there seem to be so few ways to channel it into a political response that can change the course of events, end the suffering, and bring justice.

But there are ways, and this is a moment to focus on them. Already I have received notices of demonstrations and solidarity actions being planned in cities all over the world. That is important. But what will happen after the demonstrations disperse and the anger dies down? Will we continue to let Palestinians in Gaza die in silence?

Palestinians everywhere are asking for solidarity, real solidarity, in the form of sustained, determined political action. The Gaza-based One Democratic State Group reaffirmed this today as it "called upon all civil society organizations and freedom loving people to act immediately in any possible way to put pressure on their governments to end diplomatic ties with Apartheid Israel and institute sanctions against it."

The global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement for Palestine provides the framework for this. Now is the time to channel our raw emotions into a long-term commitment to make sure we do not wake up to "another Gaza" ever again.

If the UN really cared about the people of GAZA they would charge Hamas with war crimes and crimes against humanity. Cut off all aid to Gaza and send an armed expedition to Gaza to apprehend the Hamas leadership and as many of its followers as they can find and take them to the Hague to stand trial. This is certainly within the means of the UN.

But, the UN does not care about the people of Gaza and is a co-conspirator in Hamas use of Gaza civilians as human shields and propaganda set pieces (by ensuring that they get killed).

There is an alternative but the "civilized" West lacks the moral courage to take it.

                          Here is the solution:
                          1. Brand Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, Iran, Saudi Arabia what they are, terrorist states.
                          2. Cut Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and Saudi Arabia off from the rest of the world.
                          3. Send armed expeditions to capture their leadership and as many of the top level membership as possible.
                          4. Try them for crimes against humanity.

Tell the citizens of those areas that if they want to rejoin the rest of the world they have to put governments in place that are not terrorists. Failure to do that means they stay isolated from the rest of the world. No travel into or out of their country, no access to international banking institutions, no exports, no imports, no access to international communications, no access to the internet.

If any of the countries fail to stop supporting/exporting terrorism then they can stay an island unto themselves for as long as they wish.

Eventually the people would get the point.

But, of course the "civilized" west lacks the courage to do this. So, the problem will only get worse.

Nelson Rockefeller. A former Governor of New York and, after 1973, a former Vice-President of the United States. In the past few years, Rockefeller's image as a "moderate" Republican has become tarnished, espcially since the 1994 publication of Loftus' and Aarons' Secret War Against the Jews . They reveal that Rockefeller was a Nazi sympathizer during World War II. Worse, they reveal, he was a traitor: there are transcripts of telephone conversations between Rockefeller and Nazi agents in South America in which Rockefeller arranged the sale of tons of petroleum products to Nazi Germany. What is really significant about these transcripts is the date: 1943, in the middle of World War II (Loftus and Aarons 270-91).

". . .[T]he Rockefellers just happened to own the largest stock of Standard of New Jersey and were then in partnership with the Nazi-controlled I.G. Farben. . .the (Rockefeller) family was in complete agreement with the Dulles brothers and Forrestal on the question of preserving US profits, no matter who won the war. . .[H]is friend Forrestal had authorized the Rockefeller oil company, Standard of New Jersey, to ship oil to the Nazis in 1941. That was before the United States entered the war, but Pearl Harbor made no difference to Rockefeller . . .[emphasis added--mcs]. All through the war, while Rockefeller was in charge, everything the Germans wanted in South America they got, from refueling stations to espionage bases. The British, on the other hand, had to pay in cash. Behind Rockefeller's rhetoric of taking measures in Latin America for the national defense stood a naked grab for profits. Under the cloak of his official position, Rockefeller and his cronies would take over Britain's most valuable Latin American properties. If the British resisted, he would effectively block the raw materials and food supplies desperately needed for Britain's fight against Hitler. . . (Loftus and Aarons 164-71)."

Not only this, Rockefeller's cronies were members of the Dulles-Forrestal clique. (Loftus and Aarons 165-71). And:

'By February 1945 one-third of the nations on the [South American] continent had not even entered the war, while Dulles's friend, President Juan Peron of Argentina led a bloc of decidedly pro-Fascist countries that were eager to help the architects of the Third Reich escape with their assets intact. In the end, these countries had to be ordered to declare war on Germany and Japan, under threat of exclusion from the United Nations. . .(Loftus and Aarons 165-71).\'94\tab It was all a farce: Argentina didn\'92t declare war until late April, two weeks before the German surrender. In fact, most South American dictators made a fortune from the Nazis during the war (Loftus and Aarons 165-71).Therefore:}{\plain \f1 \'93Rockefeller's political and corporate strategy was to use his block of Fascist nations to "buy" the majority vote at the UN. . .The Latin American bloc represented nineteen votes to Europe's nine. . .[Rockefeller}{\plain \f2 \'92s] partner in moneymaking just happened to be John Foster Dulles, a trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation and a fellow conspirator in smuggling Axis money to safety. . .Those Israelis who were present for the foundation of the Jewish state insist [Rockefeller] had crossed several lines and had made a profit on both sides of the war. Rockefeller's name arose in several incriminating wiretaps and. . . it is entirely possible that the Zionists were given transcripts by sympathetic British officials. . .One Israeli intelligence officer admits the British connection. . . Ben-Gurion had already accumulated more than enough ammunition against Rockefeller and had decided that he couldn't take any chances with an indirect approach. There was no time for a British-style media campaign. The Latin American votes were needed in three days.

"Our American sources insist that the Jews simply laid their cards on the table for Nelson to read and 'blackmailed the hell out of him.'. . .In 1936, the Rockefellers entered into partnership with Dulles's Nazi front, the Shroder Bank of New York, which. . .was the key institution in the Fascist economic 'miracle.' In 1939 the Rockefeller-controlled Chase National Bank secured $25 million for Nazi Germany and supplied Berlin with information on ten thousand Nazi sympathizers in the US. Except for a few months' interruption, the Rockefeller-owned Standard of New Jersey company shipped oil to the Nazis through Spain all throughout the war.

"The roster of the Rockefellers' known pro-Nazi behavior is horrendous. As previously outlined, in 1942 Senator Truman described the behavior of the Rockefellers' company as treasonous. . .Under the US Constitution, giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war is treason. On September 22, 1947, Federal Judge Charles Clark issued the following opinion in a civil case: 'Standard Oil can be considered an enemy national in view of its relationship with I.G. Farben after the United States and Germany became active enemies.' The date is significant. Two months later, just as Nelson Rockefeller was hoping that the damage could be limited to a few corporate scapegoats, the Jews arrived in his office with proof that he personally had committed treason against the United States of America.' (Loftus and Aarons 165-71).

It was the perfect moment, Loftus and Aarons (165-71) tell us, for blackmail. Today, Nelson Rockefeller is remembered as the Republican millionaire who became vice-president of the United States. But: '. . . in 1947 he was still under a cloud of suspicion for his activities in South America. . . Despite the fact that Rockefeller sat on the ProclaimedList Committee and was in charge of Latin American intelligence, he turned a blind eye to Standard's shipments of South American oil to Hitler. . .[But] by 1947, the Rockefeller publicity machine had things under control, notwithstanding what Judge Clark might have said. Then the Jews arrived with their dossier. They had his Swiss bank records with the Nazis, his signature on correspondence setting up the German cartel in South America, transcripts of his conversations with Nazi agents during the war, and, finally, evidence of his complicity in helping Allen Dulles smuggle war criminals and money from the Vatican to Argentina. . .[The] Zionist[s] blackmail[ed]. . .Nelson Rockefeller. . .Reuven Shiloah, Ben-Gurion's intelligence chief. . . masterminded the operation. . .[W]hen the Zionists confronted Rockefeller, (he) skimmed through the dossier and coolly began to bargain. In return for the votes of the Latin American block, he wanted guarantees that the Jews would keep their mouths shut about the flow of Nazi money and fugitives to South America. There would be no Zionist Nazi-hunting unit, no testimony at Nuremberg about the bankers or anyone else, not a single leak to the press about where the Nazis were living in South America or which Nazis were working for Dulles. The subject of the Nazis was closed. Period. Forever. . .[T]he price for the margin (of votes) of safety [for the admission of the new nation of Israel to the UN] was steep. In effect, the extra votes for passage in the UN were bought with the blood of 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. . .The Zionists' success at the UN General Assembly did not end the danger to their cause. There was no guarantee that the Jews would not be double-crossed. They knew that Forrestal, the Dulleses, and their other enemies would not give up. And they could not blackmail them all. . .' (Loftus and Aarons 165-71)."

Rockefeller is not the only major figure they expose for treason in World War II. James V. Forrestal, then-Secretary of the Navy and later the Defense Department, and Prescott Bush's attorney Allen Dulles, then-OSS Swiss Station Chief and later Director of CIA, are revealed to have engaged in treasonous acts during the Second World War. Both were partners in Rockefeller's company, Standard Oil. Both, say Loftus and Aarons, were under surveillance by FDR (64-73).

We've also recently learned that Prescott Bush was indicted under the Trading With the Enemy Act in November, 1942, while U.S. troops were under fire in North Africa. It was found that Prescott's firm, the Union Banking Company, was helping arrange loans for the sale of petroleum products to Hitler (Tarpley and Chaitkin 30-46).

Worse, it became apparent that Prescott remained on the boards of directors of a number of companies now known to have engaged in treason in World War II, until 1952 (Bowen 4-11). Allen Dulles remained Prescott Bush's attorney even when it became known in various inner sanctum circles in Washington, D.C, during the war that both he and Forrestal had been found to be such bad security in dealing with the Axis that the Roosevelt Administration had placed them both under surveillance in order to determine if they were engaged in acts damaging to the national security of the United States (Loftus and Aarons 64-73).

Rockefeller kept many of these exposures of treason from having media attention, so that most Americans were not aware of them until the 1990's. Rockefeller was able to take advantage of Israel's need for votes to secure membership in the UN to keep his own role in treason under wraps for nearly 50 years (Loftus and Aarons 270-91). He was able to pressure Jewish intelligence to make a deal with him whereby his own treason was hidden in return for the votes of 20 Latin American nations that Rockefeller basically controlled. Israel needed those twenty votes to secure membership in the UN. In return for covering up Rockefeller's treason, Jewish intelligence got Israeli admission to the UN in 1947.

A number of other high-level persons were also involved in treason during World War II, as Charles Higham points out in his books American Swastika (New York; Doubleday, 1985) and Trading With the Enemy(NY: Delacorte, 1983. 39-42). Among them were Robert Lovett, Artemus Gates, William Stamps Farrish and William Draper. All of these were also associates of Prescott Bush throughout his life.

In addition, George Bush's own association with known Nazis and Nazi-sympathizers of World War II has come under increasing scrutiny in the past few years with his ascension to the Vice-Presidency and the White House. As he left the White House in 1993, major allegations were apparent that George had associated for too long and at too great a level of closeness with several known Nazi-sympathizers of World War II, including Lazslo Pasztor, a man who acted as a courier of information for the Nazis during World War II. Bush has also insisted on continuing to associate with Yaroslav Stesko, a known war criminal who headed a Nazi puppet regime in the Ukraine during World War II. During Stesko's administration, thousands of Jews were slaughtered (Bellant 159; Bowen 2-11).

But perhaps more important, from an American viewpoint, is the effect of men like Stesko on the average American soldier in the field in World War II. This is an angle that hasn't been brought out much about this area, but it is one that infuriates me. By making it easier for the Nazis to administer their regime in the Ukraine, Stesko freed up hundreds or perhaps thousands of German troops to fight against and sometimes to kill American GI's in Europe.

It is also important to understand the strategic effects of individuals like Laszlo Pasztor on the German war-making ability. By delivering messages and keeping lines of communication open within the Third Reich, Pasztor helped keep the Germany in the war longer. Some of the communications he delivered from Hungary, where he was a member of the domestic version of Hungary's Nazi party called the Arrow Cross, apparently facilitated German troop movements in the Balkans and along the Mediterranean at a time when easier troop movements meant lower German casualties--and higher American casualties (Simpson 173-80; Bowen 2-4).

We also now know that Allen Dulles's "Sunrise" negotiations with the Axis in World War II were much more involved than anyone had previously suspected. (Loftus and Aarons 75-80, 99). A big motivating force behind Dulles, they tell us here, was Nelson Rockefeller atttempting to avoid prosecution after the war.

He didn't completely succeed. In 1947, a federal judge ruled that his company, Standard Oil, had been guilty of treason during the War. Several executives got jail sentences and fines were levied against Rockefeller and his company.

There was a reason. Rockefeller's tankers had fueled Nazi u-boats in the Canary Islands (Higham 36-42). On March 22, 1943, Rockefeller authorized an enemy agent already blacklisted to receive $3668 for legal services in Rio. On April 22, 1943, one of Rockefeller's officers cabled Zurich confirming the shipmenet of 16.7 tons of fuel to the Axis. In a secret document on June 9, 1943, one of Rockefeller's officers in Venezuela was authorized to continue trading with four enemy corporations to the tune of 13,000 kilos a month (Higham 36-40).

Rockefeller was defiant of FDR's efforts to shut down his sale of oil to the Axis. The Dulles brothers had one of their clients threaten to disrupt the US oil supply during wartime. Besides US Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg, three other members of the US intelligence community insist that Allen Dulles was personally behind the threat to cut of Saudi oil supplies. The Standard Oil Executives made it clear that the entire US war effort was fueled by their oil and it could be stopped. The US Government had no choice but to go along if it wanted to win the War. (Loftus and Aarons 63-7).

According to Charles Higham, by 1939, while Hitler and Japan were building up their armaments and Americans were dangerously short of rubber and the armed services were hard put to complete wheels for planes, tanks and armored cars, Rockefeller made a deal with Hitler whereby he could obtain certain kinds of Standard Oil artificial rubber while American would get nothing (Higham 36). And Senator Harry Truman's Committee learned in 1942 that Standard Oil had sent cables to Japan in 1941 asserting that its trade with Japan would continue whether or not America went to war with them (Higham 42-53).

Further, according to Higham, on January 28, 1944, Britain forbade the sale of further petroleum products to Spain, since it had been learned that oil sent to Fascist Spain went to Germany. Roosevelt soon joined Britain's ban. But on May 2, 1944, Rockefeller's Standard Oil succeeded in pressuring FDR to allow it to again sell oil to Fascist Spain. As a result, 48,000 tons a month of American oil began to flow back to the Nazis (Higham 58-62).

Prescott had to know of some of this, since his banking firm did regular business with Standard Oil and his attorney, Allen Dulles, was on its Board of Directors. Prescott}{\plain \f1 \'92s steamship line had extensive contacts with the Nazis, as well. It had provided free trips for German Nazis to the US for a meeting of a Fascist eugenics group in which Prescott Bush was a member throughout World War II (Bowen 2-11) and Prescott had an attorney on staff who continued to do bond business with the Nazis until November 1942, apparently stopping doing so only because he was indicted by the US government (Tarpley and Chaitkin 34-40). Only a few months earlier, in September 1941, Rockefeller had his tankers refuel Nazi submarines that were sinking American ships in the North Atlantic and with which it was widely known the US was involved in an undeclared war. (Higham 35-6). Rockefeller also accepted $11 million in bonds directly from Hermann Goering in 1940, and the two initialed off on an agreement whereby Nazi Germany was authorized to continue to exploit Standard Oil's Rumanian oil, whether or not America came into the war. (Higham 34-60. See also Bella Kissh's unpublished thesis on this, 1984--full reference can be located at the Annotated Bibliography file on this Website: Go to Annotated Bibliography). Thus, Prescott's insider knowledge of, yet continuing partnership and business association with, Rockefeller and his firm, makes some other subsequent events look suspicious after this May 2, 1944 reshipment of oil to the Nazis via Spain and those cables to Japan of 1941. For, on May 15, 1944, Prescott's son George Bush flew his first combat mission in the Pacific against the Japanese. Given this backdrop, one must wonder why he was even there.

If "the CNN strategy" is so successful, how is it that the taxpayers of the US still send over 3 billion bucks a year to the very prosperous, First World state of Israel? (One of the world's leading arms exporters)

Why is it that the mass media is still, by and large, rabidly pro-Israel?

Why did an American President place in high positions extremist pro-Israel US citizens who later engineered the US into the Iraq War, with lies, lies, and more lies? (Some of these neocons are still in high positions in Washington, despite their abysmally failed policies.)

Take an unbiased look at the stand the American press took on South Africa before Mandela, and on the equally "apartheid" nation of Israel.

And why Pat Buchanan correctly calls the US Congress "Israel-occupied territory."

We need liberation as much as do the Palestinians.

                                        CNN National Security Correspondent

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A new book quotes U.S. officials around during the 1967 Israeli attack on a U.S. surveillance ship as saying the attack was not an accident -- as Israel has always claimed -- but deliberate.

The attack, in which 34 American sailors died, was carried out to prevent the United States from eavesdropping on Israeli military activities, author James Bamford writes.

The USS Liberty was attacked during the Six Day War on June 8 by air and sea forces off the Sinai coast. Israel said the ship was mistaken for an Egyptian one and U.S. President Lyndon Johnson then accepted the explanation.

Israel later paid modest reparations to the families of the 34 Americans killed, and to the 171 others who were injured.

What the Israelis did not know, according to "Body of Secrets" -- published by Doubleday and scheduled for release Tuesday -- is that the U.S. National Security Agency had a surveillance plane flying above the Liberty.

The book quotes by name a Hebrew-English translator on that U.S. plane as saying the Israeli pilots talked about completing an attack. He said "they mentioned an American flag" -- suggesting the Israelis knew they were attacking a U.S. ship.

Bamford's other named sources include a former top N.S.A. official who conducted a review of the attack and an Air Force major general.

Israeli officials have not responded to CNN calls seeking comment.

Bamford writes that National Security Agency intercepts of the Israeli pilots and sailors remain secret to this day, although his sources say the communications would clearly show the Israelis attacked the U.S. ship deliberately.

As for motive, Bamford speculates in the book that the Israelis may not have wanted the United States to know that "at that same moment, a scant dozen or so miles away, Israeli soldiers were butchering civilians and bound prisoners by the hundreds, a fact that the entire Israeli army leadership knew about and condoned, according to the army's own historian."

Survivors of the attack on the USS Liberty have long argued that the Israelis had to know they were attacking an American ship, since the ship was circled repeatedly at a low altitude by Israeli aircraft before the attack and the ship was flying U.S. flags.
Bamford is an intelligence specialist and the author of a previous best-selling book about the NSA called "The Puzzle Palace."

Two years ago a ground-breaking article, by two US professors (of Jewish ethnicity) appeared in the London Review of Books, a very prestigious Brit publication. (In certain areas the UK has more press freedom than does the US.)

The article, titled "The Israel Lobby," was first promised publication in The Atlantic Monthly, in Boston. But the Lobby got wind of it, the usual pressure was brough to bear, and the Atlantic ownership took the so-called "better part of valor."

The article was a ground-breakng study of what astute observors of the American scene had known for years: that this country, re its Mideast foreign policy, was securely in the hands of the leadership of another nation: Israel.

The professors, Walt and Meirsheimer, were first given the silent treatment by the press (at the insistence of the Lobby); but eventually, and through the magic of the Internet, the article garnered a decent quantity of readers.

Later, the essay was expanded to book form. And for a few weeks actually hit the NY Times BestSeller list.

Lots of coronaries on K Street in Washington, where the Israel Lobby and lots of others are housed.

Cat's outta the bag. But the rats are still in the attic.

I'm pretty sure if you move them in Florida they will start hating the Latinos and the Latinos would have to live in ghettos like the Palestinians. They would soon claim Florida as the promise land and start wars with the neigboring states. God be my witness, the moment they enter Georgia we will slaughter them all like sheep.

Got this from another board, just think this through for a second:

Imagine for a moment, Hamas decided to give up their weapons and quit fighting and suicide bombing. Just dump 'em all into the ocean. What would happen? Probably peace. Israel would work out a settlement and no more Palestinians would die in this conflict. Now, imagine the opposite--Israel decides to dump all their weapons into the ocean. Anyone think the result would be the same?

There are press reports that a lot of Jews are getting out of Israel. Especially secular Jews with children approaching military service age.

In Israel, due the influence of the religious parties, young Jews studying Torah and for the rabbinate, are exempted from military service. And so, the burden of mass murder falls upon the more secular population.

Those empty S. Florida condos may start slowly filling up
