whats funniest is that i was ridiculed about the edges hitters have today because your average sbr poster thinks there are enough solid pitchers that most gueys who come out of the pen in middle relief are some sort of expert specialist

id guess at least two or three days a week hitters on most teams get ab's against a team's 10th best pitcher....theyre better slump busters than a 200 lb chick

And I laugh at the posters that say, Ruth, Gehrig, Williams, Foxx, Williams, Musial etc. etc. etc. wouldn't have nearly the success they had in their era, if they played in this era.

The all time greats played in a 8 team league, where each team used a 4 man rotation.
They all went 8 innings, no garbage middle inning bullpens, all 8 teams in the two leagues had at least 1 elite pitcher, you had to be good to make the staff.

The great hitters of the past had to face the likes of Feller, Koufax, Warren Spahn, etc. etc. etc. twice a week, every week.

There are maybe 6, no more than 8 outstanding starters in the majors today out of 30 teams.

There were 10 + outstanding starters in the old 16 team majors of the past each and every year.
