Apologize to Mansion in my case
Hi again, after some talk with the customer service of Mansion
they could convince me that it is possible that I didn't
notice that the 'Status' of the bet in 'Bet History' ->
'Unsettled' was not 'Bet' but just 'Offer' even if the bet already had a bet ID. Therefore I must apologize to Mansion because of all the trouble this matter caused.

Yes, very good of you to update us on that. I was suprised that a bet would be dropped after the site started running smoothly again.

Mansion can be tricky with the bets that get turned into offers. It looks like the action is sitting there waiting to be scooped up but somehow, after you confirm, you end up with an offer. I guess it's due to transactions that occur seconds ahead of yours.

That's why I keep an eye open for changes in my balance. The offer won't change my balance but a confirmed bet will.

          Thanks for posting.

I've had that problem many times before. The problem is that the mansion software doesn't update the lines on the screen even though they're updated internally - if you see what I mean. So, for example, if you take a price you see at -150 which you think is good, you're actually taking the price when the market is now sitting at -170. Your bet of -150 won't get taken since there isn't the money there (despite what the screen says) and will only ever get taken if the market moves back the other way.

In the past, closing the browser and logging back in hasn't always remedied the problem and it's a problem which happens quite regularly (not every day but maybe once every couple of months). It's annoying when it does happen but, as has been said, what you need to do is to check that your balance has gone down and double check in the pending matched bets to make sure they've gone through.

Part 1: The lines at Mansion are updated every 20 seconds or so, and during that time LOTS can happen.

Part 2: What problem? Just delete your bet from the offers section in case you are too slow to get the line you want.

You're missing the point, slash. This is a problem at Mansion, this is a problem which Mansion have previously ackonwledged to me a number of times - it's nothing to do with "missing a line".

The problem is that lines are showing which aren't actually there anymore due to software issues. I'll explain further if you need me to.

This is how I know that my missing bet (see other thread) is indeed missing. If it hadn't been accepted, it would have registered as an offer. But it never did. There is no record of the wager at all.

I'm 100% convinced that Mansion messed up, but I have no way of proving it. Sucks.

                    Explain further please.

Let's say the Mets O 10 is +103 with $9500 available. If you select the line, it will show up as +103 $9500 available in your betting box. Let's now say that I also make this exact same selection but confirm before you do. In that case, the line won't change at Mansion for up to 20 seconds (it will still show +103 with $9500 available, but when you confirm your bet, it will show up as an offer in your account, because the line isn't available anymore.

I'll explain further if you need me to.

Honestly, this is like pulling teeth.

OK, it's more like the Mansion software stops updating even though the prices/volumes behind the screen have changed. The prices "hang" on the screen even through they're not available anymore. This isn't 20 seconds, this is more like 20+ minutes later. So the prices you see on the screen are what the market was 20 minutes ago - you're free to place a bet but they won't get accepted since the prices aren't in the range of the current state of the market. As I said, this is a problem with Mansion and is a problem they have admitted to me several times - when it happens they generally provide me with a different URL to access the site when I had these type of issues and say that their techies are working on the problem. Or, failing that, they asked me to try the site later.

I really can't put it much more simpler than this.

                          Thanks for simplifying it, Taco.

So you're saying that after 20 minutes they apply a 20-second refresh and if you just wait 20 minutes and 20 seconds everything will be fine or they'll build you a new website and give you the URL?

Where are my chopstix? Life is so complicated.

I checked under 'exposure'. I know the bet showed up there. From left to right the menu shows 'exposure' - 'offers' - 'open bets' - 'balance'. At the time I had no idea that I would have to check under 'balance' as well. When I saw the bet accepted under 'exposure' (nothing under 'offer'), I immediately moved on, because I was in the process of placing a number of bets quickly, at different books. In any case, for those who place a lot of bets it would be very inconvenient, and inefficient, to have to check the exact balance before and after each bet.

DH, if you would have checked the balance, you would have found that the bet was also reflected there... for the moment. If you had checked back in a minute or two, there would have been no sign the bet was ever made.
