Keep in mind that the Big East still has Louisville, Villanova, Syracuse, Marquette, and West Virginia left. Deepest conference in the history of basketball IMO

I have seen Pitt the past couple of years flirt with a great team, this year I do believe they have the total package

yes, they have nothing, you are right powell. How many other teams started the season with 12 double digit wins? Why don't you Mike Brey and Tom Izzo how good this team is. I am almost positive they will give you a different story. Izzo is probably still having nightmares from the absolute beatdown he got. Now I would like to see Pitt go to Michigan and put 90+ and come out of there with a 35 point win.

Big East might have more teams in the top 25 than ACC, but ACC has 3 of the top 4. And let me know when Pitt routes ND when McAlarney hits 9 three balls. They would lose, guaranteed. UNC lead that game by about 25 before he went off at the end and you talk to me about UNC not being elite. Give me a break.

And while we are talking ACC, how about Wake being too young to beat those scarey cougars? I tried to give you the heads up on that one but BYU was so good at home and had so much experience, so much for that. Another team that tried to run and gun with the ACC and came up on the losing end.

Wow They have always been a strong conference in Mens' College Basketball, but this year they are on fire, the best conference.

PITT ranked #1 amazing they are so talented.

Marquette Syracuse is a contender and I see someone in the big east in the Big show at the end.

Forget NC, forget Duke, I am loving the Big East this year.
I DONT THINK DUKE HAS WHAT IT TAKES,BUT IF I WAS YOU I WOULDNT SALE CAROLINA SHORT[DONT PUT TO MUCH ON THE BC GAME].I DO AGREE THOUGH THE BIG EAST IS TOUGH.

dude BYU had Wake down the whole second half. Also, Harangody was sick in Maui and was a non factor compared to normal. Also, Notre Dame isn't even a top 5 Big East team. Early season wins mean NOTHING.

                  hard to determine...

do you remember Sean Miller #3 at pitt 87-92? now Xavier head coach PI? he's my older... his brother Ryan is the same age as me, we grew up playing ball together and going to pitt games and shoot arounds, rebounding for guys like charles smith, jerome lane, demtrious gore, pat kavanough, rob brookins, darryle porter, rod martin, ect.

we and a group of other "drill for skill"ers would do halftime shows at pitt games...

my name is Brian...and Ryan and I look alot alike... So everyone called us the -ian's... but we were like 10 at the time and trying to be like Sean and we would shoot three's over 6'10 guys like Charles with huge rainbows... and Paul Evans would always tell Jerome Lane to shoot his free throws like us "shoot with more arch" , "shoot with more arch" So Jerome starting calling us the "Archies" and it stuck for both of us. when I moved out of Beaver Falls area in 90 to Oil City, I kept the nickname, telling my teachers/classmates my name was Archie...

Ryan is still better known as Archie... he played at NC State.. and is coaching at Ohio State. Somtimes I wish I would have stuck with baskeball only but I wanted to play a bit of everything...

anywho, if you ever wanna talk Pitt basketball from that era I'm your man

ya, you like that King. They have been more dominant then anyone, you can't even argue that fact. They have made every team they have played, except for the one loss, like a bunch of high school girls basketball teams but they aren't good.

I think Powell is just still mad about the beat down UNC gave Louisville last year in the Elite 8. Speaking of Ville, Kentucky almost beat them at home. Last time I saw Kentucky play before last weekend they got smashed by UNC for like the 3 year in a row.

guy, call me when UNC chokes in the Elite 8 again this year. UNC is like the 16 year old kid thats still in middle school and bullies everybody until the end of the year when the rest of the kids pass him. Wow, that example is perfect

you don't even make sense. last year they lost in the final 4 not Elite 8, in the real world they won comfortably over your own Cardinals. And I mean comfortable!

No shame being in the final 4 every year, now is there?

Good shit archie, haven't watch Pitt bball that far back, as I wasn't old enough, but this is the best Pitt team I have seen going back 8 years or so. They need a consistent outside shooter, Gibbs could be that guy, but I am not counting on it.

UNC doesn't have it defensively. I don't care how many points you can score a game, a team needs to be able to make a stop at key times. Something they couldn't do in the BC game.

i'd love to see gibbs hit 44% with alot more shots... 50% on limited shooting shows promise...but hard for him to get mins unless he steps up his D... alot great pitt shooters have sacrificed scoring to play balls to wall defense... J-page comes to mind... he could lock a guy down..
