I was just looking at New Orleans schedule and they have to play back to back at the Lakers then at the Jazz.
Do you think teams ever look at a schedule like that and say, "We'll take the night off against the Lakers and go for the win against the Jazz."
Why? I think the reason is because sometimes they may be worried that if they go all out against the Lakers then they may have nothing left against the Jazz. In other words, they may have a higher chance of losing both if they play their best against the Lakers.
I have this theory because I've seen teams on the road get blown out and not seem to show up in the first game of a back to back then miraculously recover and win the second game or at least have a great showing.
Any thoughts on this?
