Makes no sense. I cant remember why but I heard a discussion on it a while back on the radio and the way they described it there was no way it was a good decision.

Well obviously Tom Brady is gone now that is a hard thing to think. Cassel gets a 14 million a year deal so Brady is definitely finished

They will try and trade once they are sure Brady will back for the start of 2009. Cassel is solid qb that could help many teams. He is worth atleast a 2nd rounder, and think possibly even a 1st.

I'm not sure it means Brady is gone, but I do think it's an indication of where the Pats feel like Brady is in his rehab...

yeah, I heard about it yesterday. No surprise. It's insurance.

If Cassel signs it, though, they'll have to trade him if Brady actually recovers.

If I was the Vikings I would give a 1st rounder up for Cassel, with that Defense and running game, they just need a qb.

Brady is behind on his rehab and is having problems. Its possible another surgery would be required. If thats the case he's done next year because its essentially starting from scratch again. So why wouldn't you retain your capable backup no matter the cost? Especially when you will get value from it when its all said and done.

No one but Brady and the Pats know where he is in his rehab. Pats have always kept injury info close to vest and this is no different. Everyone else is just speculating.
