    Do You Bet "Pleasers?"
It's a kind of teaser bet that some books have - you lay 6 pts or more - more than the posted spread.

If a team is -3 you'd lay -9. Or you can lay more than 6 pts, the more you lay the bigger the payoff.

I did it only once in my life - back when Tampa was a small dog to Oakland in the Super Bowl.

I am absolutely certain that it was a stand-alone bet - NOT a parlay thing. I bet only Tampa at both -3.5 and also (laying 10) at -7.5. Big payoffs when they blew out Oakland, as I'd felt they would.

I went looking at the books I use, for a Pleaser. (Was intersted in betting a please on Philly today) Most have them, but only as linked parlays. Ya gotta bet two or more teams.

There are no books, I guess, that take only one team, as I know I got with Tampa as a stand-alone back in that Super Bowl they won.

So I put ten bucks on Philly today at -9 and linked it Fla at -9.5, to win $60. Should be fun.

Maybe the books only offer a one-team Pleaser in the Super Bowl?

Isn't that the same as buying points?

You could bet a small "action bet" (with a cap) on the Eagles. (It's also called Lightning bet)

There's a reason a lot of books don't offer pleasers.

Yesterday, The Greek offered alternative spreads on the two playoff games. All books offer multiple alt spreads for Super Bowl.

Pinnacle and bet365 are the best for point selling but they are off limits for US based players.

I considered doing this for the playoff games yesterday which were both pk (before moving a bit) - if you had placed pleasers on both dogs yesterday it would've come out to maybe -5 and would've won

Right, "point selling" must have been what it was. I know when I bet Tampa in the SB, and laid both 6 and 10 over the posted line, it was not linked to another bet.

I don''t see any of the books i have that sell points. No books for US players does so, i guess.

I'd agree it's probably best not to make it habitual, but in the few cases a year you have a strong opinion it may be a viable option,

Football Pleaser is 6 points so Arizona would of pushed and the bet would of lost

At what odds, giving up how many points and for which sports? There are plenty of things you can do with pleasers that have +EV. Sadly, Las Palmas recently cut all their pleaser odds.

I calculated the odds on 2-6 team pleasers of 6,6.5,7,7.5 points in NBA and NFL sides (only things 5dimes allows pleasers on) and I calculated every wager to be -EV

Pleasers usually involved multiple teams like a teaser.

Alternate lines usually have what your looking for.

What I bet in the Super Bowl that year had to be a case of point selling.

It wasn't alternate lines, like 5 Dimes offers. (The juice was not adjusted, the payoff was higher.,)

And I know now it wasn't a pleaser, which always involves mutiple teams.

I forgot the odds. I have the account book around here somewhere (did it in pencil in those days) and could dig it up sometime to see what was being offered.

As someone said, it's not offered anymore on US-accessible books.
