    Bet at Mansion disappeared again?!?
Hi all, I just made a really annoying experience which will cost me some money for sure and first of all I must say a big part of that is my own mistake too because I didn't make a snap shot of my betting history so now I have no proof at all anymore. Just this evening (here it's night already) I placed a bet at Mansion for the MLB game Philadelphia against NY Mets that there would be over 10 points. I also placed a bet for under 10 points at Pinnacle to make a safe win. I am sure I saw the bet I made at Mansion in my betting account in the betting history where I always watch after placing a bet to make sure everything is correct. Then I watched the live ticker of that game to see in which book I would lose and where I would win. Then I noticed the balance of my Mansion account was as hight as before placing the bet and I also saw the bet wasn't anymore in my betting history. :-( So far I always thought a bet one see in the betting history (also if it is under 'unsettled bets' was absolutely safe, isn't it?!?
I went to live chat and the person there was friendy and said they would investigate it but as I have no snap shot as proof for my bet I feel there is not much hope for me anymore.
Is there anybody else who ever had the same problem or is it just me?
Anyway I will inform you about the answer from Mansion. And of course I don't say they cheat but I guess there must be any software problem or whatever which caused that mistake...

Thanks for the hint to the other thread.

Unbelievable in how many ways (apart from just to lose a bet) it is possible to lose money in this business...

I thought that Kiwis were the only straight gamblers left over in this world. It seems that with the death of Bob Moore, that also came to an end.

Maybe the Kiwis which you mean still play straight bets - so there stays some hope for you that there are still 'real' gamblers.

I live in Europe thought and rarely dare to place a straight bet in US sports as I am not an Expert there...

At least for the future I have a suggestion for Mansion: as long as the problem exist they may send the bet ID by e-mail and as soon as one has the e-mail with the bet ID the bet is valid? It doesn't help me to get back my winnings but maybe that would be a solution for the future?

                Sorry to hear that, Kiwi.

Like you said, it is best to always take screen captures of your bets.

For what they are trying to do this is just crazy. Players have to be confident they action when dealing with bets at all, but lot of large bets go through Mansion so even more important.

I hope you won't hate me but here's what I can't help but wonder:

You say you noticed later that your balance hadn't changed. Did you check for the change immediately after placing your bet?

Mansion has a last step in confirming bets that is somewhat easy to forget. You submit your bet - and then a display comes up that looks sort of like a record of a confirmed bet - but you actually have to submit again. Then you get the confirmation display that looks very similar.

I have almost missed that last step at times (just due to being very busy or whatever). Fortunately I have gotten into the habit of always checking that my balance has changed so I catch myself. But I could easily imagine a busy person who places a lot of bets missing that last step.

If you're sure that's not the case then ignore me. However missing the last step in the confirmation process - not just at Mansion but anywhere - is something which happens to bettors quite often and I think always looking for that change in balance immediately is a good habit to get into.

Hi Mudcat, I know what you mean. Indeed it already happened to me to forget to confirm a bet. But in this case I saw the bet not only on the main page of Mansion but also I saw the bet in my bet history under 'unsettled bets'. Tell me if I can be wrong but a bet in this history must be accepted and valid already, or? Concerning the balance I remember the balance before I placed the bet. I am not sure anymore if the balance had changed after the bet because in the moment after I placed the bet the first thing I did was to go to the bet history (that was so far my way to be sure that a bet is valid). That means during the betting process I didn't look at the balance but then later when I changed from the live ticker window to the Mansion site again the first thing I noticed was that the balance was the same as it was before the bet that caused me to go to the bet history again and see that the bet wasn't there anymore.

Mudcat, I hear ya. However, there are plenty of other places that require a bet confirmation. Why would so many missing bets, within a short span of time, suddenly all happen at Mansion? Before this, I never had a single missing bet anywhere. Can you feel the probabilities stacking up like a Pisa tower?

When my bets were dropped, it was during the period that Mansion's site was experiencing pretty extreme technical difficulties. It was very difficult to even get them in, often requiring more than 5 tries before getting through the process without the page freezing. Also, the bets dropped off within a couple minutes of being accepted.

I'm pretty sure this is when DH had his problem too. But kiwi, when you lost your bet was the site operating smoothly?

I'm just curious, because I've had no problems at all since they got there problems fixed a couple of days ago.

Hi MrX, yes the betting process went smoothly. I also remember the time a few days ago when the betting process was more difficult but strangly at this time I didn't lose any bet.
