I'm on day 4 after chucking my 30 year nicotine habit on New Years Eve. A bit cross eyed today, bit of a head ache maybe caused by no sleep, not sure. Otherwise fvck'em, I'm gonna make it.
Anyone else with me??

Chew or Smoke John?
If Chew I will go with you, you are half way home if you got 4 days and you really want to quit.

I only smoke Cuban cigars. No artificial nicotine like in cigarettes or chew. I will recommend switching to cigars John. Castro is 85 years old and living like a king.

Nice job. I can't join you because I kicked the habit some years ago. I remember the stage you are in right now and it sucks but if you can fight through it, it is worth it.
And you CAN fight through it. The worst is behind you. You're doing great.

I dipped but didn’t discriminate. Smoked too. No turning back for me.

I've heard Chantix works but has nasty side effects on some.

From a 25 year dipper who quit 18 months ago, get off all nicotine as quick as possible. The gums keep the urges, IMHO, but if you need something for the oral fix (insert joke line here ) try Oregon Mint Snuff, it helped me.

I chewed Copenhagen for 10 years. One and a half tins a day. I have quit for 20 years. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to quit.
The withdrawals lasted for a month. I thought about chew every day for two years. I am very happy that I was able to quit.
I went cold turkey. I don't think that Nicorette was available at that time. Good luck.

I had smoked for 5 years, then again I'm younger then some of you. I quit for 2.5 years and recently started back up, began drinking coffee too. It led me to some cravings.

For me to quit smoking or dipping I would have to quit drinking coffee and quit gambling. They are all related in my life.

Good luck John, I've heard the first week or 2 are the worst so you have relief ahead of you, just keep focused on that. If you feel like you are going to relapse don't be too proud to use the gum or a patch.
You can do it.

Between the diet and kicking your nicotine habit all in one shot is very tough. I really hope you make it John.
BTW: Will your 2010 New Years resolution be to stop gambling?
