"value" is a term idiots use to try and come off as "sharp" bettors. For some reason, such idiots are convinced that a bet does not have to win for it to be a good one, as long as it has a chance of coming close, "it has value" and they bet it.

So if ppl ever wonder how books are just giving away free money on futures like Miami to win East or Miami to win Title...think again, there are countless idiots burning money on all the other teams that books collect on, and probably still come out with a healthy profit at the end. Value is nice but doesn't beat common sense and actual money won. I grabbed futures on Bulls (I thought Rose would come back at the time), Pacers, Grizzlies and Spurs throughout the regular season because those were the teams that could give Heat a tough time IMO. But always with the intention of hedging because let's face it, it's the Heat. No way I'm letting any of those futures ride.
