Forgive me if I'm wrong about this, but it doesn't appear that you live in a very big sports market, because beefs like what you described above are what it's all about a lot of the time. For example, one might overhear, "Oh you're a Raiders fan? Well I live in SF so obviously, I'm better than you." And the other person says, "f\*\*k you. And f\*\*k Silicon Valley too. I could give a fvuck about the Niners. And the A's need to stay in Oaktown where the true players play." Then they go round and round for like an hour.
