I dont watch hockey that much,just occasionally, however that game is outdoors and think it will be great for the fans.

i have been awaiting Jan 1st now since summer. you have no idea how much i am anticipating this game. I love wrigley field, i grew up watching the cubs.. I love hockey.. and it will be an outdoor game. i can't wait to see the fan reaction in chicago.. what will the atmosphere be like? will it be electric? will there be 35,000 fans.. i really can't wait. i reallly could care less about the bowl games.. this is the most forward i have ever looked to watching a regular season game in quite some time.... including my habs games..

Both teams only know how to light up the board. Both teams netminders are weak. Take Wings and Over 5.5.

last year I flipped between the bowl games and the Penguins game. This year I will check in with the hockey game a few times as well, but most of my time will be spent on the bowl games.

These teams just played each other, 4-0 Detroit - in Detroit.

I believe the under is an excellent play here, rivalry games tend to be close, and this game is getting alot of attention.

The ice condition and weather will be a factor, just like it was in Buffalo last time.

Under 5.5 is the smart bet for this game.

If snow accumulates on the ice they will halt the game and scrape the surface, this tends to take the flow out of the play, under, under, under!

Right, as a tire guy, you should know that compounds (tires, pucks) behave differently in different temperatures, so do people.

Stats from indoor games mean little in an outdoor game.

Expect the ice to be an issue, I would be extremely surprised if the ice is fast for more than 5 minutes a period.

Snow will hamper team speed and stopping play to scrape snow off the ice improves the chances for a low scoring game.

Can't wait. Original six battle! Forget about the bowls! Only game worth watching is on at 5 after Hockey. Love the idea of hockey being played outdoors. Especially at Wrigley field considering how much a baseball nut i am.
Go Wings! By the way would love the Rangers to be next on the list to play outdoors!
