2008 wasn't a very lucky year for myself or most Americans for that matter... My family had health problems, I took 2nd in a poker tournament over the summer that I shoulda won 96% of the time (still bugs me), I was haunted with bad luck in the simple matters of life (such as saying the wrong thing at the wrong time... watching most of my starting out money (once out of college) drain away thanks to the stock market... and sickness on all 3 vacations...) Needless to say I will gladly forget 08 (gambling set aside)
The most important thing the 2008 taught me was money management... I started out gambling offshore in march with money I had won off of my friends/students... Poker and ohio state's continuous chokingness in "the big game" allowed me to build a bankroll in my bank account of which allowed me to begin an offshore account... When I started out I was betting 5% of my roll as units... needless to say I went broke quick. I chased a lot and was successful for the most part I thought, before eventually having it to catch up and burn me... By June I was re-upping and have had to do so a few times since... Thankfully I've learned to control myself better, wagering less, and refraning from tilting and chasing (poker taught me a lot about that) For 2009 I plan on continuing my management and fine tuning things and ultimately using my first full year of gambling as a profitable one...
I'll be tracking my plays here:
I've never kept a public record before and see 09 as the perfect time to begin...
Anyways, 2008 wasn't the best for me on a personal note, therefore I'm led to believe that 09 is my year...
Lets end 2008 with a perfect last day at least:
NCAAB:
Akron vs NC Greensboro Akron -10
Wisconsin vs Michigan (ESPN2) Michigan -2.5
Creighton vs Indiana St Creighton -10
N Carolina vs Nevada (ESPN2) Nevada +18.5
NBA:
BUCKS 1h (half time lines aren't up at my book yet... but they should carry the momentum over from their upset over SA in the 1h of the game) I'll update later)
I'll post my Bowl plays later (good fade material)
