My guess is around 10% of the time, even though I called you once and we talked for about half an hour.

What I think the deal is:
Almost all towns and states (sure as hell California) are hurting for money. And they setting up virtual speed or traffic traps to get motorists to pay the shortfalls, and let cops keep their jobs.
A year or so ago I made a right turn onto a main road, after stopping for red light. What I failed to see was this fukkin tiny sign they'd recently put up: No Right Turn on Red.
And when I turned there were two cops cars pulling me and everyone else over, who'd fallen into the trap.
Cost me $200. Paying for California's and all the cities wasteful spending during the "good" years.
It is now, on all levels, a war of the government and various local governments on the people. Dangerous, dangerous . . .

And i said "oh gee thanks" in a sarcastic way.

The fines bother me, but the increase in insurance premiums is what REALLY annoys me!
I pay approx $1800 a year for full coverage on my 2004 Toyota, one ticket and my rate goes up 5%, second ticket, rate goes up 20% and so on. Criminal.
I should also mention that beating a ticket in court is near impossible, however, the courts here are at capacity and many times they don't have judges/JP's available to hear the cases so your ticket may be thrown out due to this fact.
Last time I got a ticket was for a seatbelt infraction, went to court and they didn't have a judge/JP so they withdrew the charge.

say good evening officer, for what did you pull me over today? If he has to reason roll up your window and leave. They can't pull you over for BS and if they do, you don't have to stay and waste time.
