It's very difficult for people to get excited about watching too little guys fight. I remember I took a group of folks to see Pernell Whitaker vs Oscar De La Hoya. I still think Sweet Pea won that fight in a Mayweather'esque style of punching and getting away. The Vegas judges wanted to see power punches and gave Oscar the decision for some reason. Well later that night or maybe the other night (I can't remember it's been so long) but we were in one of the Casinos (I think Mandalay Bay). Sweet Pea walks by with his enterouge and my girlfriend screams out loud "dam he's short". He turned around and started shouting... "who said that, who said that", while we all just started laughing. My girl was bigger than he was...

People want to see big guys get cut down like big lumberjack trees. They don't get excited seeing lightweights going down. It is what it is. I use to go to all Mike Tyson's fights. They use to be packed out of this world. I don't think you'll ever see those type of crowds again. People wanted to see someone get knocked out, it didn't matter if it was in the 1st round, we all knew somebody was getting knocked out. I appreciate the art of boxing but the masses like to see big guys get knocked out. Boxing desperately needs a new crop of heavyweights...

^^^ it's like watching 2 midgets fighting. Its more hilarious than anything.

Boxing needs to consolidate, quit fighting within and develop a plan to build the business. UFC is building a brand. Boxing hasnt built anything but controversy.

Start recruiting for talent in the inner cities. Give out schollies so that kids can learn the art instead of them playing football n basketball. Guys at the top need to stop being greedy and give back to the sport.
