She's selling everything he ever left behind at the house growing up probably his hand held Matel football game, super toe football game he got for Christmas and his first Playboy he stashed under his mattress. She needed a few hundred grand to buy a house in Vegas.Kobe is furious over it so he's suing her.Hmmmm, the guy has to have at least 200 mill salted away in pure cash even if he's financially retarded so why doesn't he just give his old lady a few million here and there even if she's a dumb ass slot addict? It's sad it comes down to the kid and mom being at odds like they are Sanford and son when they should be on top of the world.
Most ridiculous,Kobe Bryant suing his mom over her selling his growing up junk.

#10This is a classic case of diminishing the family of importance........
<dt style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">FAMILIES TO DIMINISH IN IMPORTANCE</dt><dt style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;"></dt><dt style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">
Families would be limited in size. We already alluded to not being allowed more than two children. Divorce would be made easier and more prevalent. Most people who marry will marry more than once. More people will not marry. Unmarried people would stay in hotels and even live together. That would be very common - nobody would even ask questions about it. It would be widely accepted as no different from married people being together.
More women will work outside the home. More men will be transferred to other cities and in their jobs, more men would travel. Therefore, it would be harder for families to stay together. This would tend to make the marriage relationship less stable and, therefore, tend to make people less willing to have babies.
The extended families would be smaller, and more remote. Travel would be easier, less expensive, for a while, so that people who did have to travel would feel they could get back to their families, not that they were abruptly being made remote from their families. But one of the net effects of easier divorce laws combined with the promotion of travel, and transferring families from one city to another, was to create instability in the families.
If both husband and wife are working and one partner is transferred, the other one may not be easily transferred. Soon, either gives up his or her job and stays behind while the other leaves, or else gives up the job and risks not finding employment in the new location. Rather a diabolical approach to this whole thing!

#14Originally posted by bjb7223Why doesn't he just buy it off her?A source told ESPN, according to their May 3 report, that Kobe offered to give his mother $250,000 to pay for the house she plans to buy with the auction money. Reportedly, his mother refused and told him she needed a full $450,000 and Kobe refused.
has to pay almost a half mill to get his stuff back.

#20This isn't complicated: The mom is selfish. Period.
1.) She can't be hurting for money, so there's no reason to auction off the stuff to begin with.
2.) After YOUR OWN SON asks you not to sell his memories for profit, you, as a mother, should stop. But she's insisting.
3.) When your mom (or anyone, really - think about Christmas) buys you something, it's yours. The end.
4.) A lot of these are Laker items, so they aren't things she bought.
5.) If the storage fee was actually an issue, she would have told Kobe about it. But she never did. Why? Because she's rich as hell and money isn't an issue.
Legal complications? Sure, "abandonment", "property" and "possession" might be thrown around. But it's just as unethical and absurd as that woman that won million of dollars for suing McDonald's when she spilled hot coffee on herself and the lid didn't say the coffee was hot.
Also, kee in mind, Kobe has taken care of his parents and family and others beyond his family since he was 17. SEVENTEEN. He's bought them houses and cars and planes and vacations, etc. At 17, half the kids today are getting high in the parking lot behind the football stadium at their school wondering why homework is important.
If she won't hang them proudly around her house, the least she could do is give them back as a token of appreciation.
When legalities override common sense, I just shake my head at humanity.Comment
