Is Quizz going to play in this game? It seems Oregon State has been very tight lipped on his playing status. I know his brother is out, if anyone has the correct info please pass it on.
Happy New Year!

As SBR's resident Beaver alum, I can tell you that Quizz is scratched from tomorrow's game. The trainers have told Riley that it would be physically possible for him to play, but not without the likelihood of cracking that broken shoulder blade so bad that the surgeons would have to go in and fix it with pins. Riley has made the definitive decision that he doesn't want to take that chance with a true freshman.
Ryan McCants will be the tailback, and that makes me worry. I just got back from Safeway with an armload of booze in case the Beavers stink as bad as I fear they may without either of the Rodgers brothers.

Same X's and O's
Beavers offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf said the X's and O's are the same without the Rodgers brothers -- although that doesn't solve the problem of where the Beavers will find the almost 400 yards of all-purpose yardage the duo averaged each game.
"If we only had a week to prepare (for Pitt) it would be hard, but we've had a lot of time to practice and work on the stuff we're going to try with some different people," Langsdorf said.
Moevao said Pitt might be surprised at how well Oregon State can move the ball without two of its biggest weapons.
"They can't key on Quizz and they can't key on James' fly sweeps. They don't know what we're going to do," he said. "We have other guys we can go to."
Langsdorf said the Sun Bowl is an opportunity for reserve wide receivers Chris Johnson, Darrell Catchings and Damola Adeniji.
"They're going to get more touches, and we're going to spread the ball around a little bit more," Langsdorf said.
During the coaches' final pregame appearance Tuesday, Wannstedt sounded as though he's still not convinced he won't see Jacquizz Rodgers in uniform. But whether or not he plays, Wannstedt said the Beavers' offense is dangerous.
"They're No.1 in their conference in passing, and that doesn't happen by accident," Wannstedt said. "A couple great players may be out, but you don't have the success that Mike has had the last four or five seasons building a Top 25 program without having good depth and having players ready to step in."
