#45again...you kids are completely clueless as to what is going on in boxing right now... ufc ppv #s, popularity and ratings peaked years ago and have been steadily declining for 3 solid years... dont believe me, go look for yourself...some extremely good talent coming up in every weight class in boxing...sure, it will never be what it was because rigged judging has abused the sport, but is the sport "dead" , not by a long shot... thats an overused and extremely ignorant statement that the ufc blowhards have adopted...

The numbers are declining because there is more and more events taking place. In the month of April alone there was a UFC event on every week. Where was boxing? The only 4 week boxing events there are now are HBO 4 segment promotions to get everyone hyped up for the upcoming fight on Pay Per View.
I think that it is you who are clueless. Go around the internet and look how many high traffic MMA websites that there are compared to Boxing ones. Hell even right her at SBR, Boxing discussions are as dead as dead until right before a PPV comes up, meanwhile there are UFC discussions going on all of the time.
You are in denial just like everyone else who wishes that boxing was what it used to be 10 years ago. Those days are long gone. When Mayweather and Manny are all that there is left and you need one of those guys on the card to sell a million+ PPV's
UFC topped a monthly PPV card with 500,000 buys with 2 freaking girls headlining it.Comment -

#62i'm a fan of both but mma isn't there yet. fighters get way under paid for what they risk.
and it's embarrassing that jon jones signed an endorsement contract with nike for $10,000.

#63My point is if there were boxing Pay Per Views every month of the year, they would not sell 1.5 million Pay Per views each. The UFC can draw 400,000 or 500,000 with guys headlining without a title even being at stake.Comment -

#65No, the money for the fighters isn't there, but the popularity is. UFC fighters fight for the company that they work for, which is the problem. I have no problem getting 4 or 5 guys down my house for every UFC PPV regardless of who is fighting, but I can't get anyone to come down for boxing. The last house full of people that I had was when Tyson fought Lennox Lewis and it has gotten worse after that until no one cared anymore. There just isn't enough names anymore.Originally posted by Ghenghis Kahni'm a fan of both but mma isn't there yet. fighters get way under paid for what they risk.

#66there are fewer ufc ppvs now than have been in many many years...they have to pull some bullshit like pimping girls in order to hit decent #s... ill give you a chance to change this so you dont sound like a typical blowhard... they had to work out the network deals because they were killing themselves with shitty ppvs. ... you will NEVER see mma fighters or fights getting anywhere near the money that is in boxing(payouts or betting #s)... boxing is the worldwide king, pal... live with it.Originally posted by KermitThe numbers are declining because there is more and more events taking place.
