Strasburgs arm may be shot again
Nationals manager Davey Johnson revealed after Monday's game that Stephen Strasburg is dealing with tightness in his right forearm.

Uh oh. The Nationals are giving Strasburg medication and will have him evaluated by team doctors before it's determined whether he'll make his next scheduled start. You'd have to think, especially with Strasburg having previously undergone Tommy John surgery, that the club will play it safe and hold him out for at least one outing. The right-hander holds an un-Strasburg-like 3.13 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP this season.

If this is true, this makes Johnson look bad in my opinion. There wasn't anything wrong with that arm at the end of last year. If Strasburg is out for an extended period of time, this just proves that the Nats should've done everything for the WS last year. You can't hold a guy out, assuming you'll get another shot.

            All speculation of course....

This is why they should have just pitched the guy in the playoffs last year.

False. Did you actually watch the game last night? His command was absolutely awful, and he knew it. He shook his head after half of his pitches because they were nowhere near where he wanted it them to go. He has great stuff in terms of movement, but that means nothing if command isn't there. He just looks lost right now, and some of that might be because his arm isn't 100%.

False. He threw yet another quality start while having next to no command of his pitches. He wasn't the losing pitcher and got himself out of several self-induced jams. What would be nice is if the Nats could give him 4+ runs of penetrating offense during his start. They left 6 men on base, got picked off twice, and went 2-9 with RISP.

Even with Strasburg pitching below his standards (which is still better than most SPs in baseball), he still kept his team in the game.

The offense has nothing to do with Strasburg. and how he pitched. Yes, he kept runs from scoring but he gave up 4 walks, which is very unlike what he's shown in the past. He threw over 90 pitches in just 6 innings and only gave up 6 hits, which means he wasn't in command of his pitches. Just because he didn't give up runs or hits doesn't mean he is his normal self.
