Post positions get decided at 5pm ET today and then odds will be posted after. Like I said before post position is HUGE factor to some horses so any odds posted before are not accurate

Keep in mind that the #1 silk is basically a death sentence. In 11 years, only two horses have even gotten 4th from it and the one horse broke from pp3 that year.

This is not true. In the history of the derby the one post has the most victories. It all depends on a horses style. The worst spots are way outside. Bleacher report did a power ranking of post positions and post 1 ranked sixth.

Bleacher Report is OK when it comes to some sports but after looking at their info for the Derby not so much when it comes to Horse Racing.

Post 1 and 2 are the worst posts.Pretty sure all the wins came before they added the aux gate and they didn't have to run straight into the rail.

Thanks for posting those Empire. I'm about a mile from the track as we speak. Wish I was a better capper with derby but it's such a hard race to pick. That being said, there will be tremendous value out there Saturday. I can't ignore Borel in the 3 spot. Pitino horse is legit and hey Rick has been on a hell of a run, can he now win a derby? Overanalyze sounds like a derby winner......

I'll be interested to see everyone's input and thoughts. Let's keep this thread going. Daddy needs to fatten his Bovada account
