How many guys on here benefitting from the bad economy? Lower housing,cheap vacations

Seems like gamblers should like the bad economy I personally enjoy cheaper hotels, gas, cost of liveing, trips etc etc I have a stable job and the economy does not hurt my gambling numbers........ only way it may hurt me is on my horse gambling I have noticed some shrinkage in pool sizes at certain tracks resulting in lower payouts but overall I can't complain

The line of work I am it really doesn't mean anything to me. I have not been touched by anything that is going on and won't be. I have made smart decisions and everything is ok over here.

My family owns a chain of bars in florida, worked in them since I was 18 and just borrowed money to buy into one of the locations.

I am a finish carpenter and its killing me since my livelyhood depends on houses being built.

Sorry to hear that, this area (DC metro) has had such a housing boom over the past several years now everywhere you go you see half finished shells of houses because builders cant borrow the money to finish buying supplies to build it definitley a frustrating industry, my GF dad just finished building a house for 800k that was being put on the market for 2Mil right before the break down and he just needed to add a deck but could not afford to the extra 20k to get it done and has still not sold the house, he also owns about 2 dozen houses he rents and me and the gf have had to deliver letters to at least 3 of them who are now 3 months behind on rent so I see the effect it has on the real estate industry

same thing going on here. I know 1 builder that was building about 120 houses a year, and this year he only built about 5.
I had about 5 builders that I was working for but this past year none of them have continued building. a couple went bankrupt.
