Enterprise Rent-A-Car, complete f'king assholes.

Rent a car for 9 days. Bring it back this morning, guy checks it out, says everything is fine, gives receipt.

They call the gf half hour ago, say they are charging me for dog hair, have to get it detailed.

OK, I returned the car early, give it back to me jackass, I will use a sticky roller to get the dog hair out of the back seat.

I even left the gas tank topped up, got it less than half full.

He doesn't even know how much I'll be charged.

I says to the guy I says "You rent cars for a living and you don't know how much it will cost to remove dog hair from a car?"

Guy on the phone is a complete asshole, must hate his life, renting cars for a living.

Anybody know how to do chargebacks on a CC?

I actually worked at Enterprise for a while a few years back. Really surprising that he is trying to charge you for dog hair. Unless the car is COMPLETELY covered in it and smells like dog so bad that they can't get the smell out any other way there is no reason they should have to get it detailed. In all my time I think we only had to get 2 cars detailed.

Usually Enterprise is really good about those things and gives the customer the benefit of the doubt. Really surprised at this. You must have been dealing with one of the few that work there that are just miserable.

One thing I will say, he might hate his life for renting cars but doing so he makes a GOOD living. You make a lot of money working for that company. It isn't just one of those 8 dollar an hour jobs, you have to havea degree and such to even get in the door.

It burns me because the guy looked the car over, and said it was fine, then gave me a bill.

If he said "wot, wait a minute, there is dog hair in here" I would have said "OK, I'll return the car in 30 mins, let me remove the dog hair".

Instead, I get kick in the balls after the fact.

They treat u like fvcking criminal doing background checks and calling ur boss and friends before they'll let u rent. Just goto Budget and ur in and out in 5 min.

Also go over your CC statement and make sure they don't double charge your daily rate.
Or walk his ass outside and tell him to show you the dog hair personally.
As you walk with him ask how can we get rid of this situation?

dispute the charges on your credit card, problem solved.

make them take you to court if they want to be paid for it.

call your credit card company, tell them you didnt authorize the additional charges, tell them you have a reciept for this amount and they are trying charging you additional for something that you didnt do.

dont admit fault or admit you left dog hair in the car to anyone, especially enterprise. (if its not too late)

your credit card company will refund the disputed charges and send you an affidavit to sign. basically the credit card isnt going to pick sides, they will ********** enterprise and put the burden on enterprise to seek payment for the cleaning.

you may never be able to rent a car from them again,

its always a good idea to take pictures of a car you have returned when you return it, many places have been known to ********** for damage they claimed the renter did, and most of the time the person getting screwed just rolls over and pays it so they don't have to deal disputing it.

I have always had luck with them. I currently have a Chrysler 300 from them until mid January. If they did background, or employment checks, I would NOT have this car. You need to talk to someone further up on the food chain. This clown might be jerking you around.

Being that the author of this thread is always busting balls, some how I believe Enterprise is the one who recieved a car that is un rentable as is.

I also believe 5teamer may have said something totaly out of line to make matters worse and may be not telling us the whole story.

Presumably this is the important point; if this is the case then it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise Enterprise could claim fictitious damages on every car they receive back (although on previous experiences with people who have used them, that's not out of the ordinary).

I've always had rental car companies say something like "looks good now but we'll look it over in full on the lot." It seems to me this is what the e-prize guy meant (it is certainly in the contract as you have admitted). If you really feel strongly that the car needed no extra cleaning just contest the charges... But be aware that they will have photos etc... Just chalk it up to bad business and never use them again. Renting cars is a pretty competitive business, vote with your patronage.
