Start a Relationship With Your Local
It is that time of year when you go to a sports bar or a social club and establish relationships with local bookmakers.

    Notes:

    1. Keep credit limits low so you do not get trapped and buried.
    2. Make sure your man has long hours to bet
    3. Make sure your runner that you meet is not to far and discreet when you settle
    4. Make sure bookmaker is not a fly by nighter
    5. Settle days should be Tues unless your on a settle figure

i always use my locals JJ. the problem with using locals is finding good ones as you mentioned in your notes above.

a lot of locals make you jump thru hoops before they take you on though, unless of course somebody vogues for you which in turn not many people do, because of the possable stiff factor.

Does this extend to blowing him off to get a higher credit limit?

Your credit limits with locals should be from the range of $2,000-$5000 depending on your level of experience and control.

coach, the pay point levels do start lower than that for new people around these parts. the locals around here usually start you anywhere from the $200-$500 level. if the player is problem free at those levels over a period of time, then they will raise them accordingly.

If you are new betting on credit(with a local) I would say be very careful. Tell them you want a hard cap of $500 and you want to settle every week. Make sure who ever hooks you up knows this guy well. The same scams that happen offshore happen onshore too.

Make sure calls are taped also, I know guys trying to pull scams when you say

Giants 50x and say it loses, when you go over the figures and it is off they like to pull you said Giants 150x

good locals will always give you read backs and ask you to confirm it once your wagers are placed so there are no confusions.

the problem locals have is like JJ mentioned above in regards to the "betting the other side of the game". most of them will give the player a 1 game error type buffer zone only, after that you either stuck for the loss, or your cut off.

The best thing about using locals is that it's very well regulated and they're all licensed to do business in their jurisdiction so you know your money is safe. If, for some unthinkable reason, you have any problems with them, you can always let SBR know and they'll go break some legs for you.

When are we going to see some "locals" ratings?

in light of BOS and actionbets, I'm just not sure I can advocate anyone playing with a local...local's are just as risky...yes you can eliminate some of that risk by doing business with a guy that's been in "operation" for a while...but my advice is to stick to the pinnacle's and Cris's of the world, either that or actually bet at a casino sportsbook...seen too many local's rip people off...

Just curious anyone live in Texas and have a good local they use? I used on for the past 2 football seasons and got screwed over. We settled up once a month and when I was down I made sure to meet him and pay no matter what the total, but whenever I was up guy would not answer phone or give me b/s story of being in other city collecting. This wasnt big deal at first b/c I would alway eventually get the money or sometimes b/c he took so long to pay me would give me money heading into the next month.

Well my stupidy of letting him jerk me around in the beginning lead to him screwing me totally in the end. Giving me the run around and eventually leaving town for good.

Like these guys say its just as risky if not more risky then offshore but it sure is nice to get a bad ass line for any team that playes texas or the cowboys. So if anyone here in texas knows a good local please let me know, thank you.
