Are there key numbers in basketball?

A certain poster on this board talks about "getting under key numbers" in basketball lines. I think teams are just as likely to end on an odd number as even number. I don't get the concept and I don't think there's key numbers in basketball.

What do you think?

3 is by far the most comon number in college basketball, 7 is most in NBA. Due to late game fouling strategies some numbers are slightly more likely than others
