The Niners can take the gamble on taking him in the 4th round. They are in no hurry to get him to play right away......Thought it was a good move......He was definitely the best back out there before his injury.

The NFC West is going to be the best division in 2013.......Looks like all the teams in the division are doing well in the draft.

Gotta like it when a team on the cusp of winning a championship has the ownership behind making any and all changes necessary to put them over the top.

              smart move

they dont need him for next two years.

we have enough time to get him back to 100% health.

He is easily the best back in the draft.

Why didn't the NY Giants pick up that TE from Notre Dame in the first round?

That guy looks like Jimmy Graham out there.

Yeah I am a huge Lattimore fan and I was hoping he would win the Heisman last year...then he got hurt. He will be an ABSOLUTE ANIMAL in the pro's. Mark my words.

Best situation in the NFL for Lattimore......Gets to spend a year rehabbing with a top organization and gets to learn from Frank Gore who had similar knee problems

Also, someone mentioned that San Fran's zone read system is all about North-South 1 cut running which fits Lattimore perfectly

Rooting hard for Latti.....Great player and a better person

San Fran had one hell of a draft btw.....Talent all over the place

                            .
I don't know about this. Considering his most recent form you can't say he's better than Johnathan Franklin. He may, in reflection, be a better pick but I'd still rather have Franklin given the choice.

With Gore, Hunter, and James....I doubt Franklin would have made much of an impact in 2013 anyway. Lattimore is worth the gamble over Franklin for the Niners because for 2014 and beyond, he has a chance to be a much better player IF his injuries don't affect him too much

Lattimore would have been a first round pick if he didn't get hurt......Easily the most talent of any RB in this class by far.

Risky, but well worth the gamble for SF

Him and James will be dynamic 1-2 punch in a few years. Loved the wr from La Tech. Was hoping Pats would've grabbed him over the kid from Marshall.

I like Lattimore and I read in plenty of places he could be back to his old self in 1-2 years

Lattimore was amazing to watch even after his first knee injury. He really was drafted into the perfect situation because he could've gone anywhere from not being drafted due to the knee concern or drafted to a rb needy team looking for value and trying to push him to play this season. With the great trainers the niners have he'll be back and plowing through defenses, hopefully before the end of the 2013-14 season. The niners killed this draft. Drafting tank will give justin smith breaks through the season, which he rarely saw for the last few seasons, and that'll help ensure he's healthy for the postseason which really screwed the niners over during their super bowl run. The Niners got better than last year, even after losing Goldson, Sopoaga and Francois. With the draft picks looking good for next year as well, the new Niners dynasty is beginning before our eyes....NFC west is going to be fun to watch next year.
