Don't sweat it, InTheHole, it was good getting to know you by being on the same team in this contest. I sort of lost interest halfway through when no standings were done and we had no idea how the others teams were doing. It's not like I really tore it up either, it's hard to divy up the games, especially when there are no totals offered in CBB most days. This was just a learning experience, for us, and most of all for SBR.
No apology was necessary, but since you offered it, you have my complete and unflinching forgiveness. Let's put this mess behind us and just concentrate on making money in the coming year.

I took the next 3 days vacation so I can concentrate on this contest. This is more important than work for me. I'm hoping to find out before 12/31 11:59 pm what the standings for my team are. I need to know how many more salvos I need to fire to go ahead. I couldn't sleep last night trying to figure out if I'm 10 units ahead of every other team or 10 units behind. I will send SBR all my medical bills for the stress induced to me and my family for not been able to know what the standings are. It is very cruel having your little 3 year old one asking you before she goes to bed every night: " What are the Team Standings daddy? Are the South Camel Toes in first place?". I told my little angel last night that it is in Crazy Lou's hands and all we have to do is pray to the Almighty that our team is first. I hold SBR accountable for the stress it caused to my family for the last 4 weeks with this contest.Comment -

Pavy, you know me, I'm a sucker for the well being of kids. So I added up all of your plays and I have you at 60-61 (-3.93 units). Does that sound about right? Since you'll have some extra time on your hands the next few days, you can just keep track of your plays through Wednesday, add/subtract them from the totals I got for you, and you should be set to give your daughter the answer each night.Originally posted by pavyracer

Misread your post, thought you were just wondering what your count was. To tell you the truth, while the unlimited picks was a bad decision to start with, I've got no clue why each individual hasn't just kept their own count and included their updated standings each day they add picks. Perhaps personal accountability just isn't what it used to be. I could be wrong.Comment -
I can tell you why I didn't do it, Willie, the same reason that I haven't used the SBR spreadsheet much. No one would have any reason to believe my accounting, and it was inevitable that someone else would have to repeat the exact same work in grading to come up with an unbiased count that could be accepted by other teams.
I think most teams know how they're doing amongst themselves, but what we've been waiting for was a believable overall standings for teams to know how far we were from placing in the money. This has absolutely nothing to do with personal accountability, it has to do with conducting a contest within a community of "bullshitters", pardon my French. I don't trust any other team's grading, nor would I expect them to trust ours. SBR wasn't about to hand out prize money just based on a comparison of each team's internal books, were they? If that was the intention, I'm surprised it hasn't been brought to anyone's attention as yet.
I'm grateful for the entertainment options that SBR offers, but I don't think it's fair to lay this fiasco at the feet of the participants.Originally posted by StraitShooterComment -

No one told us to keep count at the start of this contest. If he had, Im sure everyone would have gladly done it, even though it would be as farsical as Bud Selig telling teams to keep their own season records. But we would have done it to help him out. But nooooooo he wanted to prove to his bosses that he could handle it even when it became obvious that he couldnt. Even his coworkers like BBD, Ganch and Justin offered their help but his ego wouldnt allow it. He would rather screw all of us that put time and effort into it rather than look bad to his bosses, costing himself a possible promotion.
Nope, it aint our fault...... the blame lies squarely on your incompetent employee. I guarantee mofome wouldve done a much better job. At least he's somewhat professional and experienced in grading contests. When EOG lays him off, SBR should think about rehiring him to run these contests. As has been stated previously, it was my oversight to have no cap on plays. I didn't anticipate this much interest or teams coming forward. No team has to keep their own standings, it's a personal option.Originally posted by RogueScholar

I'm not saying we are playing for the money or anything, but some might be, but throwing contest participants under the bus is just low and I would expect better from a company as good as SBR.
Maybe I held you all to a higher standard than I should have. There is no reason why we couldn't have had 5-7 standings updates. I could have graded this fukking thing and it wouldn't have taken me more than 45mins-1hour a day. You all need to figure out how to run a contest and get people who know what they are doing. The posters know more about things than SBR staff, pathetic Willie.
