I actually think they are a better team without him.

Pittsburgh.
And I disagree, you can't give a guy three weeks off and expect him to be sharp come playoff time. This is just bad luck.

With a bye to start playoffs, it makes no sense to completely bench someone as they'll be too rusty. Only excuse is if they have an injury and need extra time. That being said, Mike Tomlin IS an idiot but not for the reason mentioned.

This sucks...
Now we will hear ESPN and all the other idiots in sports media blabbering about how he shouldn't have been playing. These same idiots would have bitched if Pittsburgh lost in their 1st playoff game and Roethlisberger had been on the bench Week 17, complaining he was rusty and he should have started.
I hate hate hate sports radio and ESPN for shit like this.

Practice is not a substitute for game situations and speed.

I'm a steeler fan. I've always wished that Ben would get taken out of the game ( Not like this) He constantly fvcks up, by hanging on to the ball longer than he should, fumbling and Throwing INT's while in the Red Zone. This is not the type of QB we need for the playoffs, because we won't get very far with him.

Leftwich is the way with the future right now. Put him in and I guarantee you the steelers go to the SuperBowl and WIN.

Big Ben is just not that good. He just hold a lot of creditibility because he won a superbowl. Leftwich will make them better

Sounds like a typical Yinzer. Let's hate on the two greatest qb's in Steeler history, Bradshaw and Ben. Bradshaw hated this town so much, he wouldn't come back for 25 years, same thing is going to happen to Ben. Typical Steeler fan, we only blame the coach and the qb.

Not from Pittsburgh buddy, I'm from California. I know a fvck up when I see one, Ben WILL NOT carry us to the SuperBowl. Don't take my word for it though, Watch what happens right now, I bet we get at least a score out of this drive with Leftwich at QB.
With a play that directly involves him (A running TD or a passing TD)

What does that mean, they scored a td with Ben in the game, and when he got hurt were well on their way to scoring another one.

Or they could just punt. Learn football, any problem concerning the Steelers offense stems from the abortion that is the Steelers offensive line.

from espn:
News: Roethlisberger suffered a concussion against the Browns, according to the Steelers, CBS-TV reports.
Spin: He's being taken to a local hospital for further care. Depending on how severe his concussion is graded, Roethlisberger may or may not be better in time for the Steelers' first playoff game in two weeks. The decision to play Big Ben for an entire half in a meaningless game looms as a highly questionable call by coach Mike Tomlin.

The field goal that they just scored, would have never happened with Ben in there, He would have found some way to mess it up ( INT or Fumble take your pick) I was quite frustrated with the man for a while now.

Mike Tomlin won 10 games last year and the division title as a rookie coach. This year he has them on the verge of winning 12 games and the #2 seed in the AFC while playing the hardest schedule in the league. He made a bad call playing Ben that long, but you live and learn. The guy is a great coach and will only get better as time goes on. There are probably 80% of the teams in the league that would like to have that guy coaching on the sidelines. Just look at everyone clamoring for Cowher. Steelers know how to pick coaches. Tomlin is the next big thing.

I think Ben will be back for the playoffs...but he won't be sharp enough to lead them to victory... Defense will have to come up HUGE....
Ben has to be one of the toughest sonofabitch Qb's in the history of the NFL, a bit below Farve.... and somtimes he plays too hurt to the detrement of his team
