from what he says he was on a ship. They stopped in Australia first and read off 100 names but went in Alphabetical order. So he wa stationed there. Then they went somewhere else and did the same and so on.

After 3 yrs they moved him to the Philippines for about 6 months and same thing. No action. And then he ended up going home.

he says at the time he was pissed about it. Because he wanted to fight for his country. But now he looks back on it and realizes he was pretty lucky
