What did YOU get on boxing day?

Went to an electronics store and snagged an ipod docking speaker / radio / alarm clock system 75% off

Then made a stop on the way home and snagged a $10 polo for kicks.

Oh, and probably caught pneumonia waiting outside for over an hour too.

Hey can 1 of you Canadians explain what the hell boxing day is anyway. Is it the celebration of great boxers through the years, or what?

Well aren't I the ethnocentric prick. Totally forgot Americans don't even celebrate boxing day. Nah, no physical boxing involved, unless you really wanted a big screen tv, then you could box whoever snagged the last one I guess.

The 'boxing' part just comes from the unboxing of merchandise / unboxing whatever you bought as far as I know. The day pretty much equals massive savings at all major chains across the country. You can get cheap clothes, furniture, utilities, but the real money is in electronics. Most places have 'door crashers', limited quantity TVs and audio equipment often half reg price, or $500 off. We freeze our asses off waiting outside and hopefully come home with a bargain.

So Boxing day is really the equivalent of the U.S going back out the day after Christmas and buying all off the shit that we wanted but didn't get.
