Whats up with people who bet the same amount on every game
Whats up with people who bet the same amount on every game?

I never understood this concept? Isn't there ever a game that
merits a larger wager? Don't you ever love one of your selections??
And if you do ever love a selection why do you bet the same
amount on that one, as you would one of your regular ones?

For example let's say a handicapper likes 5 games and bets 1 unit on each game, does that mean he has the same confidence on every game
every day???? WTF? C'mon how does that make sense??

Also have you noticed the people that bet the same unit amount
on EVERY SINGLE GAME usually don't have any reasoning for their
selections? It has to make you wonder?????

I'd love to get some feedback on this and maybe this can help
    me understand this.

I thinks it's just a money management technique. If you bet an equal amount on five games and go 3-2, you win money. If you vary the amount, you could possibly go 4-1 and still lose money, if that one bet was 4x what you bet on the other games.

Personally, I don't bet the same on every game. If I really like a pick, I will double or triple the usual amount. But I am not a good money manager when it comes to wagering...

Well you never have to kick yourself when you favorite game loses and you bet more on that and all your "regular" ones win and you break even or barely ahead. Just a thought. Of course the opposite is true when you when your "favorite" crushes the opponent and you didn't bet more. I guess you just eliminate all the extra thinking.

HMMMMMMMM how much more do I like this game and how much more should I bet. Just to 2nd guess yourself later.

You just say I like these teams here's how much I'm betting. I could see this as a way to go if you're new to handicapping. Early on you would want to do this but keep notes on which ones you like more and why and track the records for a period of time to see if you knew what you were doing.

I've never understood it either, though I know pags, buddybear, and a couple people who swear by it.
I can't rationalize it, but maybe they just don't want to mess with success.

I think the people who are very immersed in every element of a league will have multiple "high confidence" picks. This allows them to discard any contests about which they don't have a strong feel and therefore they can bet a fixed amount on each preferred selection.

For other individuals who get a very good read on a line less frequently but want to spread out their action, their preference is elevate their wagers.

Recently I have subscribed to the theory of max betting high confidence picks and forgetting about everything else. If you've got the capital to do it, this would be what I would suggest to others.

That's been proven time and time again. This is the equation...

                Never bet the same amount.
I pound on a game a like a lot and if I lose. Just sit out for a while.

I see people betting $25 chip at the baccarat table all night and at the end. They got kill.

on the other hand I saw another guy at the baccarat table wager maximum bet $10,000. he wagered 3 hands (in 3 minutes)and walked home a rich man.
